if.... yeah, if... Well, I'm trying to come up with another example to keep the thread going, but winning that back to back would definitely signify they are here and ready. Not only would they regularly be tired after a late game, but then they have to play the team with the best record in the league... Not a good setup, but the Rockets can do it. They'll have to play better than in the game that sparked the McGrady Miracle. I doubt they'd be able to win again being down 10 with 37 seconds, but there's nothing I'd rather see more than for it to happen again.
I say even if they lose to Seattle and beat SA, they have arrived. Anyone who beats SA three time in a row has a shot at the title, fluke, or no. SA has been the toughest opponent for us in the last 7 or 8 years.
look at it this way. this isnt your conventional back to back.... We see Seattle tonight at home....regular 7:30 tipoff...game will be over by 10 or so... trip to SA takes all of 2 hours if they drove(which I highly doubt they do)...so figger that by 1am, they could be in their hotel rooms in SA... then the game isnt till 7:30 that night... while it is tiring to play professional ball two nights straight...it could have been much worse if the second night was in a city that was a substantial plane ride to get to instead of just jetting over to SA. If they come out and play as hard as they are able...I dont see any reason why they couldnt take at least 1 if not both of these games.
well...if we loose both, i'd still be happy with them and thier performance of late. they have given me something to cheer about
We have arrived. Already proven. Next is staying healthy, keep playing well and fight for playoff seed.
Agreed, how many teams have beaten SA twice this year? How many teams could be 2-0 after tomorrow night?
it is going to be an extremely hard 2 games. i think we can take seattle at home (i dont think they can guard yao) but that second game is going to be tough. granted it isnt very far (maybe 20 minute plane ride?) but the effects from last game could be lingering....plus the spurs have our number, it is going to be even harder to beat them this time around...esp at home. i expect us to go 1-1 but i will be impressed if we win both.
We could lose both games and I might still be happy...depending on how they lose the games. Sometimes a team is hot and nobody can beat them that night. If we execute well but we get some tough breaks...crap happens in the NBA (See the Sac game w/ Webber's shot). I say this team has arrived if we pull off another substantial win streak before the end of the season. If we can simply hold on to the 6th seed, I think I'll still be happy.
I think the poster wanted people to follow suit (not comment on his/her statement) - like this The Rockets have arrived if....... ..... they can move Mo Taylor for someone to replace Rod "fall down in the backcourt" Sick-land
the Rockets have already arrived. though we may be defining the destination differently. but if they beat the Sonics and Spurs back-to-back, it will raise eyebrows, big time.
this buzz about the rockets is building and all i'm saying is if they can win the next two games, it will be like when we won like 15 or 16 to start the season back in the mid 90's. So far what have we proven, that we probably are going to the playoffs?I think if we can go in really compete with the big boys(seatle and sa) then I think the sky is the limit.
