This was always the ending that was going to happen. We were not quite there yet, but at the end of the day this is exactly what these guys need to grow and take the next step next year. I'm an advocate of basically staying pat. I believe these guys will all grow from this and make it worth it in the long run.
No they didn't. They didn't have to lose to THIS warriors team. Rockets could have and should have won this series.
we had to go thru this to realize with absolute certainty udoka will never be a championship head coach
Emotions are high but it's the truth. We had the toughest matchup this season outside of OKC and had to learn with playoff experience as almost all young teams do. It was actually a great year during our rebuild. Believe it or not they'll get better, but we can lick our wounds until the draft lottery.
james never grew from postseason failures. it's players like amen that grow from experiences like this. perform well but show that there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Our young guys will grow for sure, but not Jalen. Four years already, how much improvements you see from him? Still sky is his ceiling? Still dream about Jordan and Kobe like somebody did when we drafted him? Jordan Farmar and Kobe Brown maybe... My suggestion is - Do not waste another min on this guy.
This is a blessing in disguise, it showed us that JG is not the answer going forward. If we had matched up with another team and won the series, JG's problems would still be inherent.
I liked after reading the first part but unliked after the second. We can't stand pat. Nobody on the team even has real playmaking potential. A real point guard, on the same timeline as the others will really make everyone else look better. I don't think we need to ship out half the team but we need a legit young ish playmaker.
I think we will be able to come back to this series in a few years and absolutely feel like this was the first stepping stone to a Rockets juggernaut. It was the first adversity our squad’s youngsters had faced in their entire career, and they almost came back from a 3-1 deficit. That isn’t nothing. And if nothing else, we’ve seen how our players respond to adversity. Amen rose to the occasion after a slow start, Jalen shrunk from the spotlight—and he knows it. And Alpi? I think he played his game, he’s not a championship #1 type player but he was never meant to be. Jabari deserved more, and Tari was even WORSE than Jalen, albeit with far lower expectations. The front office is in no hurry to make big changes, but at least this series gives them some data points to use. And if Tari/Jalen stay here another season, they had better use this offseason to work hard, because they’ll be getting a ton of hate on their socials.
despite everything, this was a winnable series this team is not good enough to contend but they could have beat this warriors team. they didnt and thats fine. it sting losing to this team again but they aint winning it either. everyone got a good look at what works and what doesnt. lets hope they can build on this.
rockets had to go through it sure but rockets fans should not have gone through this. for most of the players on the roster, this is their first time losing to the warriors in the playoffs.
idiot i’ve been watching this game since the great kc jones was winning titles. udoka in purple, orange, obsidian black or whatever is still the same gawddamn fool who just got his ass handed to him on a platter by his counterpart on the other bench
