i am getting sick of all the stupid posts that point out every single ******* thing that is wrong with the rockets after 4 games.

people point out the kings and why cant we be like them....well if some people would wake up and realize that the kings did not become good overnight. they have been in the process of getting better over the previous FOUR years. first they had c-webb, vlade, jason williams, peja, pollard, and funderburke all back in 98-99. at that time c-webb was a 5 year vet and vlade was a 9 year vet. j-will was a highlight reel rookie. peja was not a good rook and didnt even make significant contributions his 2nd year. their record was 29-26 that season. also something else to note their core at that time was built around passing. c-webb and vlade are big men who can pass the ball great and j-will too even though he made poor decisions.

in 99-00 their record was 46-41 which is something the rockets might be able to shoot for this year.

then they acquired bobby jackson (3 year vet) and doug christie (8 year vet) in the 2000-01 season when they broke out with 58 wins. both of these guys are good passers as well. also this was the season peja broke out which gave them another threat on offense. so its as if they picked up 3 players a spark off the bench, a starting SG who can play great D, and a SF with an amazing shooting touch who can pass as well.

then they realized j-will wasnt working out so they acquired bibby in 01-02 and made it to the WCF and lost. bibby was another upgrade here. someone who is a smart player that can step up. i've read some posts about people b****ing about how bibby has already made it to a WCF and francis hasn't done crap in the playoffs. thats an unfair comparison because bibby wasn't even close to the playoffs with the grizz.

and thru all this the kings are still not the best team in the nba because the lakers beat them.

my point with all this is to show people that the rockets are not going to develop overnight and it is going to take time for the team to gel. this process doesn't occur in one offseason after a mulligan of a season that we had last year where almost everyone was hurt including our franchise player. also this team lacks vets like the kings had. stevie is a 3yr vet, cat is a 4yr vet, eg is a 1 yr vet, MoT is a 5 year vet who didnt play last season, cato is a 5 yr vet, KT is a 3yr vet, and ming is a rookie and nachbar is a rookie. it is going to take the rockets a period of a couple years to develop and as the development comes the passing will come too.

this team has been put together with very little veteran leadership and it is simply going to take longer for a team like that to develop. does anyone remember how the dream lead the rockets to the 46 win season? he is the vet who sparked them. and i know potential is wonderful to have but the rockets simply lack experience and chemistry together to expect any sort of consistency out of.

all i expect from the rockets is a .500 season and to watch them develop over the course of the year. they are going to have their ups and downs like any inexperienced team. hopefully more ups by the end of the season and maybe the playoffs.:D

i probably repeated myself over and over again but i am just sick of all these negative posts about how we need to fundamentally alter the team before it has even had a season under its belt.
