I feel bad for the Rockets but I feel like this team does not have will to win and I don't know why the organization keeps Van Gunday. He's not a good coach.

well, Juwan Howard sucks, David Wesley sucks, head is in a bad slump, alston is inconsistent, Swift doesn't care about playing well, shows no passion for the game of basketball. Moochie doesn't belong in the NBA. Ryan Bowen would only make a 1/4th of nba team rosters. Mutombo is just too old these days.

Stromile Swift is the modern day Benoit Bejamin and his presence on the Rockets does them no good.

You guys can blame JVG all day long, but the bottom line is he CANNOT shoot the ball for them, league rules prevent it.

Now, I am not to say he shouldn't take his fair share of the blame, but guys continue to miss open shots and it is tough to win if that is the case.

i'm always baffled by the argument that van gundy should be responsible for tmac clanking threes off the back of the iron

or the rest of the team not being able to buy a basket.

Can we please let Yao shake off his rust and get his stamina back, and allow he and his teammates get reacclimated with each other before we judge the whole package?

Hell, we're still missing three key rotational players (Barry, Sura, Anderson).

If your judging by this game, then I think you need to be a little bit more patient.

As miserable as I am right now, I'll take you on this one.

Juwan Howard does NOT suck. Look at the box score tonight.

Wesley does not suck. He didn't get a single open look all night tonight, and he is our best 3 point shooter.

Alston is not inconsistent. I don't know what you're watching. The only thing that has been inconsistent about him is perhaps his 3 point shooting, but we didn't hire him for that.

I won't bother to argue the rest, because there is some truth to those.

Duh! You can't win games if you can't make an average of 15 wide-open-take-all-day-and-sip-a-cup-of-coffee-while-you're-at-it shots. The only thing I blame JVG for is not having the foresight to realize that these guards he has can't hit the damn ocean if their lives depended on it. Afterall, him and CD did put this roster together, and therein lies the problem...

If the players don't fit, you should just quit...

talking about patience. We sure need to take some time wait everything goes on track.. say 20 games to get in shape.. then we make a run for playoff.. hmmm.. we'd be 13-47 then..

Please! I know you were just like most of everyone else that thought we had a group of good shooters at the start of the season. And, we do. Look at the career numbers of the guards we have. We have good shooters. It's not CD's or JVG's fault that this team has had a rash of freak injuries.

why do we keep finding excuses? the other players injury doesnt have much to do with the active players perfomance.

tmac has hit a slump after he got hit in the nose. even after yao shakes off his rust he is gonna get u his regular 20/10.

baxter/hayes: atleast they are getting some rebounds. better than bowen's hustle play.

the rest: i have no idea what Head is good for anymore. moochie? wesley hits some shots once in a while but everyone and their grandma can shoot over him. also lately when tmac pass the ball to him for a catch and shoot he dribbles it around like moochie.

please dont put swift till we have a 20 pt lead with 2 mins to go so i can see a dunk.

i mean really..is this the team we expect to go deep into the playoffs?

20 games? Boy, there is a case of over-exaggerating.

How about 2-5 for Yao to get his legs under him more and let these guys get a better feel for each other, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Wow...I didn't see this thread coming. I suppose JVG is to blame for the fact that we missed almost 60% of our free throws tonight as well?

    (1) No. The Rockets have a Damocles sword hanging over their heads. EVERY LOSS makes that hair a little bit thinner, and increases the likelihood that it will come crashing down.

    (2) Mr. Van Gundy has chosen these guys. It is his job to make them put the ball in the hole. If they cannot do it, it is his job to find guys who can. Matt Bullard could unretire, and do a better job than the guys on the floor.

Horrible game tonight, but things will get better.

BTW, the left side of my face is horribly disfigured due to an electrical accident 4 years ago.

SIGH! I don't know what excuse you think I was giving. They didn't play well tonight.

I'm not sure some of you have evered really played organized basketball since you think you can just throw a bunch of guys together and they should dominate. Look at the best teams in the league. They all have had their core guys playing with each other long enough to adequately gel. Hell, the Pistons are the best example of this.

Yao has been out roughly 2 months and even then they were missing TMac, and Rafer (amongst others) for most of the season. Now he comes back having not hardly played ball (bed rest for 4 weeks) in 21 games and you guys expect him to give you 35 solid minutes and his usual 19/9.

Either some of you have WAY too high expectations or you are easy to blame JVG or CD for anything that happens.
