If i'm not mistaken the top three seeds from each division within the conference garner the top the spots. As of right now that leaves SA #1, Suns #2, Sonics #3. This is perfect for the rockets in that we currently sit in the 6th seed which pits us against the sonics. I feel that when the playoffs come around, our season vets and our dynamic duo will be to much for the sonics. Here check this out.
    #1 SA winner-SA 5 at home
    #8 T'wolves

    #4 Mavs winner-Mavs in 7 at home
    #5 Kings

    #3 sonics winner-rockets in 6 at home
    #6 Rockets

#2 suns winner-suns in 6 on the road
    #7 grizzlies

The rockets would then face the suns in what would be and excellent series. I feel like it will all come down to who plays better defense and thats where Yao, t-mac and co. will have to turn it up.
I Feel like we beat the suns in 6 and lose to SA in the confersence finals. Not a bad run for it being t-mac and Yao first stint. We just have to maintain this 6th spot which i believe is the best spot in the west besides #1,#2, #3.

mmm the Sonics have a 32-13 record and have defeated the Spurs and the Heat twice.......... They will by no means be an easy matchup.

I can't believe you guys are already talking about 2nd round playoff series.

No wonder Yao has disappointed people so much.

Not to be a pessimist, but our February schedule is pretty soft and everyone is high on the win streak.

Our March schedule is going to be tough one.

    Tue 1 @ Chicago
    Wed 2 @ Washington
    Sun 6 Dallas
    Tue 8 @ Seattle
    Fri 11 @ Phoenix
    Sun 13 @ Sacramento
    Mon 14 @ Golden State
    Wed 16 Portland
    Fri 18 Boston
    Sun 20 @ Minnesota
    Tue 22 Miami
    Thu 24 Cleveland
    Fri 25 @ New Orleans
    Sun 27 @ San Antonio
    Mon 28 @ Utah
    Wed 30 @ Portland

11 out of 16 games on the road.
11 out of 16 against teams in "playoff contention"
10 out of 16 against teams 0.500 or above

The proverbial "Trade Yao now", "JVG sucks a nut", "Sura is a terrorist" threads will reappear soon enough.

    LOL...

Damn... I knew I wasn't the only one waiting for those threads to appear...

I'm telling you, Houston has the most inconsistant fans...

One week: "Yao sucks, trade him fast..." - (insert name of any poster here)

Next week: "Yao's the best thing since hot women..." - (insert name from above here)

I feel that we can go 9-7, or 10-6 in March.

I think the teams current strong play have made fans overly optimistic.

Im still hoping we make the playoffs! =)

but someone in another thread mentioned if you shoot low you get low?!? ummm... or something like that. That if we focus on chasing the #5 seed (Mavs) instead of focusing on not losing and hopefully making the playoffs we will be better off and I have to agree.

I don't care what anybody says, if the playoffs started today I put money down that the Grizzlies upset the Suns.

If the Griz get back Pau/Posey in time for the playoffs I would have to agree.

The Suns style seems to play into the Griz strength and I dont think they have the depth to keep up with Memphis.

certain matchup's are just more favorable ..

Like I think we stand a good chance against the Spurs I wouldnt want to face them in the first round but I like our chances against them in later rounds.

Is'nt this all about fantasy anyway. I am going to enjoy the dreamcasting while it lasts. Who knows, the Rockets might dive into the March schedule and even get better. By the playoffs they might be a well-oiled machine. Well, they might.

Does anyone remember last year when the Rockets limped through the last weeks of the season and fell backwards into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth? Francis came alive for the "showtime" playoff performance, Ming disappeared, and the Rockets made an early exit.
