Yesterday, I was trying to defend Mobley. But GOD. He sucks. He is still a good player. But he makes so many bad decisions. And Steve Francis. Our leader. He made a lot of turnovers. We have to do something. Isn't there SUPPOSED TO BE A MAJOR WEAKNESS with the Cavaliers? I MEAN GOD. THEY ONLY HAD 10 WINS. GOD. RUDY COULDN'T FIND OUT OR WHAT? EVEN THE STUPID YOUNGEST COACH IN THE NBA. Well he's not stupid. But I'm pissed. EVEN HE KNEW THAT THE SOLUTION WAS TO PASS IT DOWN TO THEIR BIG MAN Z. OUR COACH IS SO STUPID. I think we need more discipline, its starting to look like an AND1 game when the 3rd and 4th quarter progress. I think a veteran point guard would do the trick and maybe a new hard nose coach like Van Gundy (he put Sprewell into his place, he can put Francis in his).
You are right...it's RUDY's fault Posey missed that free throw at the end. It's also his fault Francis threw that horrible pass to Yao on the break. Rudy should have called a timeout and put Moochie or Tito in Francis' place...good call.
I seriously think that we lost because of Rudy. He basically quite in the fourth, sitting Ming basically the whole quarter and keeping Mooch in.
Ming was sensational in last minutes of 4th quarter. Crisp passes, awesome defense against Z and pick and roll, and was making good offensive decisions. Z could not score agisnt Ming inside late in game. So how do the Rockets take advantage of it? They dont! Not with SF and CM making some of the biggest bone headed plays I have seen in a basketball game. Also, anyone find it sad that the best post entry passer on this team is Ming, who NEEDS to get a post entry pass himself? Maybe Rox should petition for rule changes next year so a player can make post entry pass to himself... "Yao comes down left side...bounce passes it into the left block to Ming..."
This is ridiculous, this is the most important stretch of the season and this team isn't even pretending to play defense on the road. The offense is fine, but losing to a banged up Minnesota badly and Cleveland is ridiculous. The frustrating thing is when Dallas was going on their run last week that essentially put the game away and instead of yelling and screaming at them and busting their @ss Rudy just sat there while Dallas runs up the score. Rudy has to fire this team up and demand they play as a team with effort on BOTH sides of the floor because if he doesn't they're going to miss the playoffs. And there is no reason at all the Rockets should miss the playoffs this year. None. They're healthy and they have a playoff position, and have had it all year. But this team goes out and collapses the same way and then makes a late, desperate effort when they should be jumping on teams more. It better start after the All-Star break or Rudy and Co. will be watching the playoffs from at home.
I actually called this one after we beat SacTown bye 16, how did I know cus with every step in the right direction we take two back. We just really sucked out there tonight, and whos fault was that? Ourselves. We really sucked out there and we need to take a long hard look at ourselves and see if we have what it really takes. Anyway lets just let Yao stay in Houston for the road games i mean we are going to lose them anyway right? He should rest up while we go up on the road.
Cuttino and Steve need to spend some time on the bench. How can they play so poorly and yet get so much playing time? It is truly sad that an NBA point guard has no idea how to set up a good shot. That's like a doctor not knowing what medicine to give for allergies or one of those lawyers who falls asleep during the trial. It's like an accountant not knowing how to add. The team's future is with Yao. If Francis and Mobley are not compatible him then it's time to rebuild around Yao at the end of the season.
I'm always defending the Rockets that they're young, give them time ... new offense, new players to mix, but damn ... this is getting harder and harder every passing game. There is absolutely NO excuse for tonights egg ... if anyone points out 'oh we made a run at the end' screw that ... we should have NEVER been in that position where we needed to make the run. This was Cleveland, a team with 9, NINE, wins. A team where Carlos Boozer was looking like a star tonight. Dumb play after dumb play ... and a dumber play to top the dumb plays. Truly pathetic. There are 15 days to shake up something. We're not going to make the playoffs, and I'm not just saying this after this one game. The whole season has been more regressing than progressing ... they show some glimmer of what they very well can do, but most of the time they choose not to play with any mental coherence, on offense, on defense ... anywhere. Considering that we have the majority of the games on the road after the ASG, we're majorly screwed. What is even more depressing is that the Raptors, being as battered as they are, are on a 3-game winning streak, yet the Rockets with everyone healthy can't beat a sorry Cleveland team. Disgusting.
The growing pains were supposed to be last year and the year before that. Don't forget this fact: Two years ago, the Rockets lost nine games to sub-500 teams, and it was the difference between a 54-28 record, and missing the playoffs. This year, the Rockets have <b>already</b> lost nine games to sub-500 teams.
Watching Mobley for last 4 years on this team has been a growing pain indeed! Cancer in the truest sense.
The Rockets shouldn't have had to "get back into the game". This should have been a 20 point blowout.
CAT...yes he did good shooting. But before the nice shooting...he made a lot of turnovers and forced a lot of shots. James Posey...he did not shoot very well. He missed a very important free throw. Francis made a terrible mistake. This is a joke. Losing to the Cavs. THEY BETTER BEAT THE JAZZ TWICE. Or they are a big joke. Sad.
I'm not going to even really blame Mobley and Francis, if you had told me that, on the road, the Rockets would score 102 points against Cleveland I would have asked "How much did the Rockets win by?". The defense is what killed the Rockets, period. I think I heard somewhere that in 4 of the last 5 Rockets losses they gave up 100 points or something like that. This is inexcusable, this is a young, energetic, athletic and deep team with a 7-5 presence in the middle, a shot-blocking 6-10 PF, and a back-up center who is 6-11 and a shot-blocker. Defense shouldn't be an issue. But it is, and that is why the Rockets can't win on the road. If the Rockets stepped up their defensive pressure they would clean up on the road. Rudy has to drill it in these guys minds to jump on people and play defense, don't just let them play and hope they do that.
