Congratulations, DWAYNE, your career is over. Nobody wants Dwayne Johnson, they want The Rock! Just ask Terrance Bollea, Randall Poffo, and Steven Williams if they want to use their real names...

"The Rock" Is Out, Dwayne Johnson Is In

    September 12, 2006 6:56 a.m. EST

Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter
Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - "The Rock" no longer wants to be known as simply "The Rock."

The former wrestler has gradually made his move into using his full name professionally instead and insists that everybody call him by his birth name too.

The famous wrestler who has been known as "The Rock" for years and years by fans all over the world is now ready to let his nickname go. Since making it into the movie industry, he now wants to be addressed to formally - by his proper name Dwayne Johnson. The sta rbelieves this will garner him the kind of respect he deserves from those in the business, including movie critics.

The actor, formally known as "The Rock said, "From now on please call me Dwayne Johnson. I want to be known as Dwayne Johnson the actor, and not The Rock. I loved The Rock; The Rock was a nickname but what's happened is it's naturally progressed into Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. When it becomes just Dwayne Johnson, as it will in the next movie Southland Tales, that's fine. I never wanted to make that defining statement. It just didn't feel right to me."

I just saw an advertisement for "The Rock" in some upcoming movie. I applaud Dwayne's decision.

I heard Reggie Bush no longer wants to be called Gayle Sayers and prefers that people simply call him Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior from here on out.

I hear Ryan Bowen wants to change his name to Larry Bird, so people actually think he's a basketball player...

That was his first stage name, a combination of his dad, Rocky Johnson and his grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, both pro wrestlers themselves...

I once read a review of one of his bad movies and the writer was (tongue in cheek) saying that he is the greatest actor alive. He has always been Dwayne Johnson playing "The Rock" playing whatever character in a movie. So he always had to act twice. It was humorous.

    This is your 1st mistake
TRYING to get respect from people who will never respect you

The Fact that he does ACTION Movies will make them disrespect you
instead of dry bs chick flicks

I actually enjoyed The Rundown, but that's the only movie of his that I've scene. The Mummy Returns sucked, but all they did was paste his head to a big CG scorpion body, so I really don't count that as acting.

Just look at his upcoming projects. He's going to be in a movie adaptation of the video game Spy Hunter, and he's playing Johnny Bravo in a live action version of the cartoon!

Actually, I take back what I said earlier...he didn't need to change his name to ruin his career....

That new football movie where The Rock, er, Dwayne is the coach looks bad and very predictable. He must not be getting good scripts these days.
