There seem to be a lot of things which haven't been touched on that I would be interested to hear the opposing side's views on. Maybe we can all post those things here and get answers.

Here are just a few that haven't been replied to by the other side as far as I know.

    1. On 9/11 Condi Rice was set to give a speech criticizing Clinton for spending too much time and money on counterterrorism, and not enough on Missle defense.

    2. Bush is supposed to be strong on defense and tough on terror. Yet when somebody in his administration with top security clearance leaked the identity of an intel agent, while we have troops in the field the pro-war/pro Bush people basically ignored this felony and have offered no excuse or defense.

    3. Republicans stole Democratic strategy documents from the computer.

    4. Bush threatened to have someone fired if they told the actual cost of the medicare bill.

    5. The Bush team created a fake news report with actors and a script to hype the medicare plan.

There are plenty of other things that could be brought up as well, but this is just a partial list.

Anybody else want to add to this one, or have a list of their own?

Your thread title was a bit off. It should've been entitled, "Another r****ded liberal anti-Bush thread"

I've been wanting to talk about that fake news report, but the only thing on it was the Daily Show story. How sad that a comedy show is the only org that carried that story.

Trader_Tim's right. Bad thread title. They do have an answer for everything they can't answer. They just say it's r****ded.

What's funny is how everyone is bringing this BS up. I just ignore all the anti-Bush crap the media puts out. Instead of reporting news, they feed every one liberal anti-Bush fodder.
Say, how many of you had these questions about President Clinton's lying, dishonest regime?
Please, if you are going to address me, address me as Uncle_Tim and address Trader_Jorge as such. We are not one and the same and I am not familiar with his political views.

Of course I invited both sides to post their own lists. So if you feel it's an anti-Bush thread, then you are welcome to change it by making your list of things the Bush bashers haven't answered, or by answering the arguments I was recollecting.

They are putting out crap instead of news? It isn't news that someone in Bush's team with top security clearance committed a felony and exposed the identity of a CIA agent ruining all her contacts, not to mention possibly endangering the lives of others and the security of our nation? This was all done while we are engaged in a war on terror with troops in the field. The felon still holds his/her job, and still has top security clearance. That doesn't qualify as news?

That doesn't qualify as news and then you mention Clinton's lying. Clinton lied and there was no excuse for it. That was covered very heavily by the media. Why then is it now that they are covering the current president it's all BS?

I predict that Uncle_Tim won't post such a list, and that if does he won't hang around to debate it. It's obvious from his earlier post that he can't abide viewpoints that don't correspond to his own. So, I think he will be beating a quick retreat back to the Free Republic.

LOL, I think good old Uncle Tim pretty much just gaver the party line on all those issues.

I tried to pin basso down on a few of those issues, his answers, as I recall, were thus:

    2. It doesn't matter that a felony was committed because Valerie Plame's picture appeared in a story about the scandal in Vanity Fair six months later

    and

    5. PR flacks use fake news stories all the time so there's nothing wrong with it.

Why would I post my viewpoints on a fodder? Nothing I could say on here would change anyone's view on anything having to do with President Bush. It seems most of the people here on heavily influenced by the media's dislike of President Bush. They control everything that is broadcasted and printed. I stand by my president and will continue to stand by him. Kerry will run this country back to where President Clinton had it: into the waiting vulnerabile clutches of terrorism and place US troops back under the blue beret. I won't post a list of anything because there is no list to post. All of that things that are listed are petty, pointless and as I previously stated, fodder to the liberal American. This is beating a dead horse. There is no point in a rebuttal to the junk that is posted.
My point about President Clinton was that where was everyone to jump on the anti-Clinton bandwagon? Sure there was the idea to attempt to oust him from office, but nobody really cared (Because it was not a popular idea sponsored by the media) that he undermined the laws of the United States by committing perjury. This isn't the argument though. In fact, I really don't see an argument here. I see it as an "online Bush sucks" rally. You want my list of what President Bush has done for you? Here it is:

Brought the US out from under control of the U.N.
Effectively removed a terrorist sponsoring government from control of a mid east nation.
Disallowed the Al-Qaeda from terrorizing the world by forcing them to hide in caves.
Increased the pay of the military service men and women.
Declaring War on Terror has increased the training and knowledge of troops, convential and unconvential alike, much as Vietnam did (at a price, yes).
Increased benefits of the Veterans Administration.

That is only for starters what he has done to protect this nation. If we were under a liberal president, Osama Bin Ladin would still be mounting attacks on the US at home and abroad.
As for the BS about President Bush destroying the economy: it's just BS. Everytime the economy goes on it's normal downswing, the Republican gets blamed. The truth is that economy goes up and down and right now we are on an upward swing after having a normal recession. Why did the economy thrive under President Clinton? The answer is simple. Wars always inspire an economic upswing and The Gulf War inspired the one that was experienced in the 90's. Who got credit? President Clinton, of course. In the past few years, we have experienced the effects of the rule "what goes up, must come down." This applies to the economy. If John Kerry gets elected and the economy goes up, which it will no matter who is in office, then he will get the credit. I'm not claiming that Republicans and Democrats are no different on economic viewpoints, which it is true Republicans tend to be more militarily minded vs. Democrats who are more economic minded. This brings me to my next point. President Bush is the best thing to happen to this country since Ronald Reagan.
You can all thank President Bush for keeping you, your relatives and your friends alive. Had he not been elected, more attacks such as 9/11 would have occurred. Nobody recognizes the importances of a strong military anymore.
It makes me hate certain liberals who turn 9/11 around to make our President look bad. It would have happened to matter what, whether on 9/11 or 9/12 or 3/31/02. Unless President Bush repealed EO 12333 prior to 9/11 and eliminated Osama Bin Ladin and his top lieutenants, it would have happened some how, some way. A thing everyone is conveniently overlooking is the fact that the terrorists were in prepartion even in 1998. Funny how nobody seems to point out that this was a well laid plan that the CIA and NSA were unaware of until the last minute.

The media loves the Bushies. They've given him kid glove treatment for a long time, even the NY Times. Just off the top of my head Judith Miller should be on the White House payroll.

What does this mean? Please elaborate how we have been under anyone's 'control'.

Effectively removed a terrorist sponsoring government from control of a mid east nation.

    Kudos. Good job.

Disallowed the Al-Qaeda from terrorizing the world by forcing them to hide in caves.

Hmmm. Been hearing any news out of Spain lately? How about the most recent warnings here in the US? Or the intel guys who say that the way we handled Iraq may have spread bin laden's philosophy far and wide?

Do you feel safer today? Is that what you're implying?

I thought that Bush proposed cuts in veteran benefits, no?

Possible, but speculative. No presdient could just sit back and do nothing after 9-11. It was initially gutsy (and impressive) to invade Afghanistan. The subsequent Iraq fiasco makes one wonder what the hell is going on? What are our motives? These questions which are being asked here make the world quite unsettled about the sole hyper-power.

As for the BS about President Bush destroying the economy: it's just BS. ...

True, but he definitely needs to give more credence to the looming threats: a massive, growing deficit that worries Greenspan (what is it, about $7 trillion?), and the potential shift to the Euro due to the size of our combined budget and trade deficits.

I'll also add that we are absolutely insane to believe that the US can operate in a vacuum ... as if we have no neighbors. That is the way this administration operates. This arrogance and outright selfish approach alienates friends; both the governments and the masses. Among the many other benefits for the world overall, if we are ever to enjoy security from terrorists, we will need friendly relations and public support in every country. Bush sucks at foreign relations and diplomacy.

Well said Cohen, good luck convincing other conservatives that you are a Republican. I believe you though.

Will he bring back the economy under Clinton as well? Clinton also helped destroy Saddam's WMD's, and formulated the plans Bush people eventually put into effect after 9/11.

Did you stand behind your President when his name was Clinton?
What kind of stuff would warrant an attempted rebuttal? Again is the fact that someone in Bush's administration committed a felony involving national security issues not worthy of some consideration?
You believe the media didn't cover the Clinton's perjury? Whitewater was a huge media event, and even got bigger once the lies were proven.
I support a war on terror. But what are you talking about when you mentioned Al-Qaeda not being able to attack anymore?

Did you miss the hundreds dead in attacks from Al-Qaeda groups in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Spain, bombs found in Paris, etc?
As for what would be happening now under a different President, what do you base that opinion on?

Your general contempt for the news is strange. Where should one get their information from? Where do you get your information from?

I stand behind my president whether I agree or disagree with him. If he is the democratically elected president, I back him 100% unless it is putting US military under the UN or something of the like. I would have disobeyed a direct order if I had been told to wear the blue beret, but thank God it never happened. That is pretty much the only thing I wouldn't back a President on as long as it's within the reasonable bounds of what the US stands for.
I can't tell you anything about the leak in national security. It was wrong, and if hasn't been correctly dealt with, that is wrong. That fact alone will not sway my vote.
I never said I didn't believe the media covered the Whitewater scandal. I know they did and they covered every last boring second of it. My point was that they didn't turn it into anti-Clinton fodder. As I said previously, President Clinton completely undermined the justice system of the United States. How can he get by with it but a common American would be fried for it?
The majority of attacks have ties to Al-Qaeda, but they are not directly from Al-Qaeda. They are not large scale terror attacks. Besides that fact, I don't care what happens in the rest of the world. It is sad that it happens, but it'll continue to happen until every single sane individual in the world agrees that international terrorism must be stopped.
What would be happening under a different President? Who knows? The good thing is we will never have to know because the tree hugger wasn't elected. I can tell you the chances of a full scale invasion into Afghanistan would've be slim to none. I get my information from the same sources most everyone else does, except I don't pay any attention to the biased crap they attempt to spoon feed me.

You may claim to not be familiar with his views but your posting styles are pretty darn close:

Attack poster (be sure to include insult like "bleeding heart liberal" or "brain dead, granola eating, hippy") but fail to answer question (scarecrow).
When called out for not answering point, type blather that gets hammered (easily) by multiple subsequent posters.
    Disappear.*

    * Granted, this thread was from earlier today so you may come back, but if your next post contains CASE CLOSED in all caps or a picture, we are all going to get a chill down our collective spines.

At least you are the same side of the aisle as T_J so you won't get dismissed as a Newbie or Rookie.

    Enjoy.
    :D

edit: Wow, you are back. I commend you for sticking around...

But I don't really care about convincing anyone about me being a Republican, even other Republicans. I'm not a party-line toter, and I haven't voted straight-ticket in many years.

But I am definitely a fiscal conservative. I think the government is an exceptionally inefficient bureaucracy and not worthy of high taxes. It's inefficiency is a drain on our remarkable economy. I admit that I have strong social views which can be defined as left of center, but I don't believe that my own personal beliefs re. social programs should be borne by excessive taxes on others.

Other than McCain, I'm often disgusted by both parties. I may have to just change to 'moderate independent'.
