Florida or Michigan. Its not hard... Hell, they should have been ahead of USC like that other thread down there suggests...

Wait... Florida should play Michigan for 2nd. OSU should automatically win. They need not play another game this year. Problems solved.

Michigan is ahead of Florida. Why should Florida leapfrog them?

Do we really want to see OHIO beat Michigan again?

Michigan had an easy schedule. They beat Notre Dame who lost to USC who lost to Oregon State... Florida finished the year with the toughest schedule in college football. That is just one of the many reasons why. IMO

This pretty much sums up my argument for Florida:

    Gators Boost BCS Resume

Basically he goes into the notable disparity between Michigan and Florida's schedule. Michigan's doesn't compare except for one game: Ohio State. If OSU blew Mich out I think Florida is a lock. Michigan ended up playing them close. Now who's to say Florida won't? Just because Michigan came close in a LOSS they should get another chance and Florida shouldn't? Michigan came close so let's give them another chance?

No no no, the right answer is never Florida. At this point, equity and fairness are irrelevant in a system that is inherently unfair. The matchup that does the best at making the BCS look bad is the matchup you should be supporting. Any other declaration of support means you hate college football and hate baby Jesus.

I posted this in another thread, but this is what should happen in a perfect world.

Exactly the "close loss" argument is the one that Notre Dame apologists used last year because their only quality game was the loss to SC, and not unlike the one that Cal fans thought they should use to get into the Rose Bowl 2 years ago (also vs. SC). The results indicated that we shouldn't read too much into close losses. I mean Ball state gave Michigan a hard time, but nobody sending them to the BCS.

It's not really a matter of whether Michigan deserves another shot or not. It comes down to who is the better team Michigan or Florida. I think the answer to that is Michigan. Florida will have their butts handed to them if they play OSU. Ohio State/Michigan part II would be a better championship game even if the Buckeyes win again.

And it's not that Michigan can't beat OSU, they just didn't do it when they met. Just like it wasn't that UH couldn't beat USM, they just didn't do it the first time they met. If Michigan makes it, they have a better chance of beating OSU than Florida. That means a better game regardless of who wins.

    OSU/UMich > OSU/UF

And Florida lost to Auburn, who lost to Arkansas, who got blown out by USC, who lost to Oregon State. So what.

Both should be decent, but Ohio State will still win and I'm not a tOS fan.

Auburn won on a blown call... Also, I think Florida IS the better team. They beat some tough SEC opponents while Michigan's defense is looking good against teams like Ball St, Central Michigan, and Indiana!!! Henne is streaky while Florida has 2 proven QBs. How can the SEC not get some love? Its crazy...

    - Michigan played 2 ranked teams this year and went 1-1. Florida played 4 ranked teams and went 3-1. 4 of the teams that Florida played this year are ranked as of today, compared to 3 for Michigan.
    - Michigan is 11-1, yet Florida is 12-1. Florida is up one more game in the win column.
    - Florida won its conference. Michigan did not.
    - Florida's opponents went 91-66 this year for a 58% win percentage. Michigan's opponents went 84-61 this year, also for a 58% win percentage. Draw.
    - Florida's lone loss was to #11 Auburn. Michigan's lone loss was to #1 Ohio State. Advantage: Michigan.
    - Florida's average margin of victory is 15.4 points. Michigan's average margin of victory is 15.6 points. I call this a draw.
    - Michigan has already played Ohio State... and lost. Florida has not played Ohio State.
    - Media sentiment appears to be in favor of Florida playing in the title game.

Florida vaults to No. 2 in BCS, will play Ohio State for national title
USC likely to face Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

    By Chris Dufresne

    BCS worthy
There isn't going to be a rematch.

No. 1 Ohio State will play No. 2 Florida, not Michigan, for the Bowl Championship Series national title on Jan. 8 in Glendale, Ariz.

According to a BCS source, Florida moved from fourth to second today ahead of No. 3 Michigan in the final BCS standings...

Chris Leak is like David Carr Jr.

So talented, so much promise, but then he makes you wanna bang your head against the wall every now and then with some really boneheaded mistakes.
