The only to comments they showed in response to Yao's were, The im ghetto and yao's never played with black players like me, and the one about the cultural diffrence, and the reason i went in the stands is because i was disrespected. They even said Ron needs to be more mature and say that this is Yao's and Tracy's team, and they need to get to know me better....Which was said in the interview by Ron. Skip is such a moron, and the media is one big farce.
Not biased, LAZY. They run with something without following it up. If only they had heard the Artest radio interview last night.
I CANT STAND SKIP BAYLESS!! but that said you expect the national media to really know about a local sacramento radio show? especially when it would have started at midnight for anyone on the east coast? they may hear a podcast of it later today and all but i dont expect anyone in the national media to comment on what ron said last night anytime soon, maybe later today when maybe one of the houston papers/media sources quote it.
What are they supposed to say, its ron artest. you guys are too freakin sensitive, this guy has never shown any sanity for an extended portion of time. some of you guys are the same guys who used to flip out at anything francis did but you want the media to give artest the benifit of the doubt? Lord have mercy
Just hearing the name Skip Bayless makes me cringe. UGHHH Something about the guy just irritates the #(*%* out of me. He is worse than Screamin A x 100000000
Skip Bayless >>>> I don't like what he says most of the time but without him the show would be boring. They need to bring back Woody.
It's a product of the format. 1st and 10, Around the Horn, PTI. They're expected to have a strong informed opinion about 15-20 new subjects every day. But there's no way they know every detail about every story (or non-story) and their opinions aren't really as strong as they indicate on TV. Yeah, they didn't hear Artest last night because they were probably were probably trying to catch up on another story they're supposed to pretend they're experts about.
Also, as ridiculous as the contrarian opinion might be, one person on those shows is encouraged to take the opposite opinion just for argument's sake, essentially. So, even if it was something like "should the Rockets have traded Tree Rollins for Shaquille O'Neal" back in the day, one person would be encouraged to say that Tree Rollins is more valuable or something stupid like that. (By the way, growing up in Houston, I heard a caller call into a sports talk radio show and legitimately ask if the Rockets could deal Tree for Shaq. The host was like, "Uhhh....I assume you're being serious about this?" Ha ha...
