In my opinion, I think the Chinese National Team is better than what was displayed on Aug 22 against the US national team. First of all, it was an exhibition game and both sides didn't really have that much at stake. Secondly, it is likely that China did not want to play that good because they don't want to reveal their plays and gameplans. If China were to play all out and play more smoothly according to plan, I believe the scoring gap would have been a lot smaller. just my opinion and first post.
Welcome sniper. While you're probably right that both teams held something in reserve in both effort and strategy, I still think the simplest answer is probably the best: the US team is much better than the Chinese team. I hate to knock the Chinese team, but they have a program that is still maturing while the US has a full-blown league that has been playing the best basketball in the world for decades. It will be a little while yet before other national teams can genuinely compete with the talent we can produce.
The only way China will be beating Team USA this week is if they bring in Gene Hackman to coach and let Jimmy Chitwood start at guard. In all seriousness, they're just not there yet in terms of athleticism plus they don't maximize Yao's presence on the floor which is simply terrible coaching.
I agree with yall!!!!! NT needs Wang zhizhi in the lineup to win... Hopes NT will put wang in the lineup if not their chance of beating the USA is low....
According to what I've read, China would rather play team ball and lose than not pass and win. So that's why Ming doesn't get 20 shots per game, at least. (which would probably help them win.) I also read that just about every one of our players were better than their players. Therefor, they had to shoot a bunch of 3's. (and miss. ) I also think the coach is not very good, and the guards can't hit an open shot or find an open Ming. I would also like to know why Bateer shot a 3. I asked this earlier, but I don't think anyone knew. Is he good at them? I wouldn't think so. I'd rather have Ming shooting than Bateer shooting 3's. JMO. I don't think it would matter either way.
Yao Ming is one of the youngest players in the team. How can you ask other players to feed balls to him? I mean China is a country that thinks "the older, the better". I do read some aritcles that the coach and some players complain that their centers are not strong and good enough to "dominate" games. (Can you image that? our centers are Ming, Bateer and Wang Zhi Zhi. Isn't it one of the best center line in all the national teams?) According to today's Chinese news, Wang Zhi Zhi has been excluded from Chinese NT. Bateer will play forward in the coming games, IMO.
no no no ur so wrong, i think china played great. (y?? coz dat was the first time they lost to US by less than 45pts)
Say," Give me the ball, or I'll eat you." I would guess that would work, especially since Yao is probably about a foot or more bigger. Hmm...note to self: When you are 40, go to China to become NT's number 1 option. May be 0/30, but you're the #1 option.
I just read that Wang will not be on the Chinese National Team.If this is TRUE, then the CBA(CHINA) is punishing Wang and injuring its own team. This does not look like the CBA is trying to SAVE FACE,which would be the traditional thing to do. Does this mean anything to the Rox? They were promised by the CBA that Yao Mings clearance to FIBA would be forthcoming. I ask when will Yao Ming be a signed member of the Houston Rockets Team?
I think the biggest problem comes from the NT not wang. NT has issues... by not letting wang plays.. what a ^%&$^&%*$^%$%^
No the reason why they lost is because they are terrible. Besides Ming who does not know anything either about winning at the NBA level they are pitiful. Not saying MIng is sorry but he has to learn what it takes to win at this level of play.
