There was an interesting article about how the average athlete tends to get sick more often than the average person because of his close proximity to so many other people on a daily basis. The chances of catching something rise significantly because there is so much close contact with a large and diverse group of people.
Interesting, I guess the heavy body contact can spread alot of germs. Particularly in BB where less body equipemnt is used than say Football, Hockey etc, I wonder if the Rox were able to get the FLU shots for their players?should have been mandatory. . . . . I can't believe I spelled FLU > > Flew

I'm a computer tech, I probably come into contact with more people daily than the average NBA player. Yet I don't get the kind of flu that would keep me out of a 48 minute basketball game. No, I do not sweat or wear a jersey and shorts at work, but my point is not lost. Anyone remember when then-rocket Kenny Thomas played w/a black eye and rox announcers said he "walked into a door", yet it was clear that he'd got his ass wooped? I think "flu" and "flu-like symptoms" are blanket terms used by the NBA for a number of illnesses/situations that the team and player has agreed not to publicize. How about the fact that pro athletes travel around the country daily to go through sudden changing of weathers; unstable sleeping schedule or sleeping environment; and yes, close contact with others in the crew who might have got the flu from all these travels or infection.
