Yep it should be Big Kev holding that trophy and not Timmy because ole Kev didn't complain when he got a combined two minutes of playing time in 2 of the biggest games in Spurs history (Games 5 and 6). And he didn't complain when he didn't play over 2 minutes in other games in the playoffs

It showed that the Spurs coaching staff understood that if they played Willis heavy minutes his ineffectiveness would be so great that the Spurs would lose games (see Game 4 Lakers and Game 4 Nets)

But Willis not complaining and riding the pine like he should be made it easier for the Spurs to move ahead and reach their goal.

Way the be a team player KEV, you da man, MVP MVP!!!!

uhh..just cause he didn't "complain" he deserves MVP??...MVP means MostValuablePlayer, not MostValuableNoncomplainer (MVN?)...

This is more of a response to the closing of the OTHER Willis thread. Don't the rules of the GARM by definition allow us to talk about ex-Rocket Tracy Murray? Why all the hate on Willis?

    ;)

When you bring up an Ex-Rocket in the Rockets forum, the subject of the post needs to be about what the ex-rocket did as a rocket....just merely stating that an ex-Rocket won a title with a another team without relation to the Rockets is chatter about other things in the NBA, so it belongs in the NBA Dish.

This was from the other thread on Willis.

Anyways, I want to know how Danny Freakin Ferry can be considered a class act? Mister "I'm so great that I don't want to play for the Clippers so I'm going to play overseas for a couple of years and then when I come back I'm going to SUCK ASS and never live up to my potential!!!!!"?

God, I can't stand Danny Fairy

I won't argue with DofD, but the real motive was to exhort the currrent Rockets to achieve a ring as well (read the first post of the locked thread).

Actually the real MVP should be Chris Webber for getting injured. It allowed the Mavs to advance and the Spurs to beat a weaker Mavs team.

Actually the real Finals MVP is Tim Duncan who was two blocks shy of a quadruple double in a title clinching game.

Ha Webber would have made no diff, the Mavs destroyed them while he was playing. If you want to put it that way, Dirk was the real MVP since him getting injured was the ONLY reason the spurs beat the mavs. Mavs would have swept NJ in 4. Spurs were a disgrace to let them even win 2 games.

No, it's got to be Steve Smith. His support, kind demeanor and loud cheering made the difference on the sideline. Popvich's head would have been no where near as clear as it was without Smith's golden advices such as benching himself for the whole serie, putting Bateer on the second row of the bench instead of the first, not to wash his hands after restroom, etc. Did you see how fired up Duncan was after that pad on the shoulder from Smith? That was awesome!!! Oh, that smile in the second quarter, which completely turned the rhythm the Spurs was under. Steve Smith is definitely the MVP. Kevin Willis is close though.

No, the real MVP is that rim for apparently moving everytime New Jersey shot the ball. Give that rim a fat bonus check!

And Congrats to big Kev for getting that ring! And to Speedy Claxton who is a better PG, I believe, then Tony Parker.

Gotta love the newbies that DONT understand what is going on.....

Look, have you read any of my posts over the last few years regarding Willis? Apparently not!

What's up with these newbies attacking me today, thinking they are hot **** and thinking I am serious here......Now I understand why the negativity and lack of credibility surrounds them as they post here...

    geez....

Not everyone reads and studies these boards like they would an upcoming final...no need to bash people because they don't get every joke. I bet there are a lot of senior members that don't understand. Why don't you explain it?

    I am confused.

Q: Are you refering me (DeAleck) as "the newbies that DONT understan what's going on..."? Or you are refering that to others who answered your posts before me?
    Choice:
    A. Yeah, I am extremely dumb to think you(DeAleck) are trying to attack me (JBIIRockets ) with that reply("you either do or you don't").
    B. No, I am not that dumb, I do realize you know I am joking and are actually trying to second my thought with that reply. My reference to "the newbies that DONT understan what's going on..." is to those who replies before you.
    C. I eat with my feet.

JBIIRockets, if your answer is B, then we are all cool. Let's laugh at "the newbies" together.

If your answer if A or C, you've got serious problems. Here is the place for you

the real mvp is kenyon martin. the guy won it for the spurs.
*******. he was what, 3-22? and every shot selection looked uglier than the one before. if i was kidd, i'd let him have it when the game was still on. just yell in his face. let him have it.
he should just defend and pass the ball. dont ever shoot kenyon!
