One of the coolest TV shows from my early youth. That opening sequence where the jeeps are flying over the dunes with guns a-blazing was awesome. I don't understand why it hasn't received the major motion picture revival thing yet.

I remember Rat Patrol being on TV on Saturday or Sunday afternoons when I was in the 2nd grade. One of my friends was very into it and talked about it all the time, but I don't remember ever actually watching it myself.
The step up to color from black and white was like the step from analog to Hi-def digital with surround sound. When I was little I used to run through the house yelling "color, color" when the the NBC peacock came on at 7 PM Sunday nights and spread it's colored tail to let you know that they were going to a color broadcast. And The Rat Patrol was ultra-cool. (there was no humor in it like McHale's)
