After getting pounded by the Bull(ette)s, I've come to the conclusion that we aren't among the top 20 teams in the NBA, even with Steve.

We will have very little chance in hell of making the playoffs.

So with that in mind, I say we start Griffin at C.

I don't give a damn anymore about W's and L's. I want to see some young players develop.

We also shouldn't give Moochie anything more than 10 minutes. He basically defines how crappy this season has been. What a waste of money, not to mention hair.

    I can't take this anymore.

Let's lose as many games as possible, get a SF or C, and start fresh next year.

I don't know if there's any way to right this ship.

I love your intro to the thread, a bright spot in an otherwise dismal evening. A touch of humor. The Bulls game was mercifully not broadcast in my area, so I watched the Kings play the 76ers. They pass, the players move, the ball moves, they find the open man for open shots, they shoot accurately, I was amazed and entertained. A welcome change. Being lottery bound for all practical purposes (Steve will not be up to par when he returns, I predict nagging foot problems for months to come) why not develop the young players. Oh please RT, can we see less of Norris (much less), Rice, Cato, and Williams. Can we see much more of Torres, Griffin, and T. Brown. Throw in Willis and, who knows, we might could beat somebody.

Moochie is the worst defender I have ever seen play basketball. He has been burned by every single player he covers. Charlie Ward and Mark Jackson destroyed him. Hassel, Mercer, and Hoiberg destroyed him. Terry Porter and Antonio Daniels ripped him in two seperate games. Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson embarassed him. The various Sonics guards blew past him with regularity. Jason Williams, well...

Geez, I'm not disagree with you, but he didn't even cover these guys. Mercer and Hassel are 7 inches taller than Moochie, so even if he did, I wouldn't be surprised if he struggles.

The pick does go to the Grizzles so if we get our ass kicked all year we get nothing. NO PICK! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

All the Rockets need is Francis, Mobley, and Taylor back and they will do alright. And yes! The Rockets need to get rid of Cato quick.
They should give Torres more minutes, and give Rice more fade away jumpers like he did against NY. Yes! I'm piss just like all you are, but we still need to support the Rockets and help them out just a little.

For what it's worth, in the event the Rocks fail to make the playoffs (still too early to tell, holding out hope ;) ) their pick is lottery protected.

In fact, the Rocks will also get Toronto's #1 (for Dream) if the Raps make the playoffs (which is very likely to happen), and I believe they could trade that pick to Memphis if it's in the top 18 (also possible).

    .

I think their pick was lottery protected last year but not this year. I also thought that the 1st round pick we get from Toronto goes to the team we got Terrance Morris from. I hope your right though. If anybody knows for sure please clear this up so I can rest easier

    Live, are you positive?
I too hope someone knows the real answer to this very concerning scenario.

All the bad decisions are starting to catch up to Rudy( not drafting R. Lewis, taking Jason Collier:confused: when Mo P. , Q. Richardson , and my boy Desmond Mason were all still available (just to keep Cat from getting his feelings hurt ???), don't even mention when we took Kenny Thomas:mad: in '99, deciding to give Mo Taylor a fat contract while not even inviting Webb to even visit, I and I'm sure many have contemplated these decisions the last few years.

Hang on guys, this is gonna be a very rough ride.

Mirsad Turckan and Bryce Drew were sure worth the picks. Over Rashard.

How was Kenny Thomas a bad pick. The guy has been awesome in the games I've seen on TV and has been good in most other games. He can beat anyone of the dribble and works hard on the glass. How could he not be worth a 22 (?) pick.

Without offending anyone, Kenny gets stripped (when he does that spin move that even the people in the $10 seats can see coming, when he gets rejected 2 feet from the basket, when he misses layups, when he..............

4 prez, do you really think EVERYONE wants to see Eddie play because they love him, or do you think it's because we are sick of seeing Kenny make so many mistakes during games.....opposing players actually salivate at the thought of slapping him around for 48.

But to answer your Q, I (among others) remember being so pissed when we drafted him when we were in need of a 3 and 1. Tim James , Jumaine Jones , and Devean George would all have been ideal 3's. I even remember liking Todd MacCullach for a backup 5. At the time I had heard of Kenny but never thought we'd draft him. I remember hearing about him dissappearing in important games but possesing good skills. I also recall when we drafted him, the announcers were very suprised and had no tape on him and offerred very little praise. I think I was at SRO's and the who place was in Shock! We all basically shrugged it off as another typical Rudy draft night.

IMHO Kenny Thomas was a very good draft pick. The Turckan and Bryce Drew picks look bad now, but we were a team imploding from age- We wanted a point guard and forward. We had lots of holes to fill based on the previous strategy in the trade for Barkley to surround Hakeem with talent to make a last run. We really used a lot of resources to get Barkley that we were lacking later.

Looking at it now - Rashard Lewis would have been a very good pick, but I'm sure Rudy and CD were uncertain about drafting a high school player. At the time Garnet was a proven talent, and the jury was still out on Kobe. Now there are few reservations about drafting a young player.

I think Rudy and CD did what they thought was best at the time.

I believe the Rockets pick is top 3 protected. So if we want to keep our lottery pick, we have to suck enough to be in the top 3...
