Delta Airline doesn't have the money to renew their name rights. So, the Delta Center has been changed to... (drum roll)

    The EnergySolutions Arena!

named after the Nuclear waste disposal company.

I haven't laughed out loud over a post in a while. Thanks.

man, i hate corporate names. Old school arena names were the best. the best one these days by far is the Palace at Auburn Hills.

Hell, Delta Airlines barely has enough money to gas up its jets. It seems to me like putting your company name on an arena or stadium isn't a very good investment.

    Enron Field?

I think many companies at the height of their market, tend to advertise in this manner because they have a little too much money on their hands.

Leaving downtown Detroit for an arena in the suburbs didn't seem like a very "old school" thing back then, but I agree, it's a pretty cool name...
