Saw the Melbourne production of 'The Producers' last night. What a fabulous show! I won't say who was in it, mainly because none of the Americans will know who i'm talking about! :)

The singing was great, music was awesome, comedy was spot on, choreography was spectacular, and overall a terrific performance. I would love to see the Broadway production of it, Mel Brooks has created a masterpiece.

Anyone else seen it? BTW, this was the first international performance of The Producers.

I hope you were just kidding. The producers was a Mel Brooks movie with Gene Wilder before it was a broadway show.

Neither am I. But I'm a Mel Brooks fan, and he was one of my inspirations to become a screenwriter.

And yes, I enjoy going to live theatre. Is there anything wrong with that?

I saw it when it came through Houston a few months ago. My wife and I are "patrons" at the Hobby Center and the Grand in Galveston.......boy that sounds pretentious; but we do get packages at both places every year. We're going to see Urine Town today.

I really enjoyed the producers, but strangely, my favorite show this year was The Full Monty.....and I really had no expectations for it.

Let u know what you think of Urinetown. I thought The Producers had more "laugh out loud" moments, but that Urinetown was more consistently funny.

    wasn't Urinetown incredible?

I saw it on Broadway last May before it closed(the star of Ed was the lead), I call it the antimusical, or the Seinfeld of musicals.

    "pay to pee".

regarding the Producers, havent seen it because it is too expensive on Broadway, but i do know Mel Brooks also plans on RE-making the film again, with Broadway originals Broderick and Lane, with Will ferrell and more. keep an eye out for more info getsmartnow

    Don't be the bunny.

Yah....I totally enjoyed it......VERY tongue in cheek.

Still......The Full Monty was my favorite, and I still might have to give the edge to The Graduate and The Producers over Urine Town, but really.....I can't complain about any of the musicals we've seen this season.

    It's been money well spent.
