That guy lost the game for us. His defense is way over rated. It's not even as good as Shandon's and definitely not as good the Hawk. Jordan and Stack were just lighting him up. Hawk is the one that slowed jordan down in the 2nd half. He also should gotten some offensive fouls on jordan in the OT but it was Jordan and the Jordan rule applies. Posey's shot is uglier than Tmo's last year. Jesus, can anyone in the NBA have less offensive skills. I know some of you guys like him, but I don't know why. I've seen about 3 good games out of him. We played so much better when we had KT and Hawk was our primary reserve. I made no judgement when the trade happened but now that I have seen Posey play, I'm convinced that we lost on this deal. We lost our toughest player who left it on the court every night for scrub that takes cheap shots at the Dallas players. We would been 5th in the west if we hadn't had done the trade. I'm normally one of the biggest homers on this board but I do not consider Posey a Rocket.
Someone tell this guy how many games Posey has made clutch shots or plays to help us win. I am sorry but Posey out hustles Thomas period. Best trade we have made in years.
dont blame posey...hawkins was 0-4 on his free throws down the stretch. one more and we would have won in regulation.
I agree. Looking back this wasn't a great trade for the rockets. Rockets are in need of a small forward who can hit the open shot and play decent D. Thomas has a better outside shot than posey. Also by posey being here it slows down the progress of Nachbar. Oh well
Hawkins missed 4 free throws because of mental problems. GOD. What do you expect? He NEVER plays. And now you tell him to go play against Michael Jordan. YOU KNOW..............THE MICHAEL JORDAN. He did a terrific job. He made many shots. A HELL MORE THAN POSEY. Posey sucked. Today he looked horrible. He can't shoot. So Jordan leaves him wide open. He can't even lay it up. He can't even defend Jordan. He's just too stupid. It wasn't a bad trade though. I like him better than Thomas. We have Mo Taylor. But I'm not sure about resigning him. I'm sure Bostjan Nachbar could do a better job. Hawkins is great. Man......Posey just sucked. He didn't fit in this game. Jordan wasn't going to outrun him. Jordan's just smarter. Dang it. Hawkins had many good plays. He missed the free throws cuz THE FIRST TIME....HE WAS HARASSED AND ASSAULTED BY CHARLES OAKLEY. That was painful. THE SECOND TIME........he was being BOOED like hell in front of thousands of people and he must have felt sorry because he hurt tyronn lue. Which really helped us. But too bad. You can't depend on Hawkins to make a 3 pointer late in the important part of a game.... Hawkins should get more playing time.
two of those free throws were missed because he got knocked upside the head by Oakley. He also hit some clutch 3's that got us into the game. Hawk was 4/6 from the field and 2/3 from the 3 pt line. Hawk and MoT were the reasons we even got even in this game.
Please tell me how posey is better than KT. KT and Posey shot the same from the 3pt line, but he had enough sense to stop. Player G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG James Posey 33 22 27.3 .398 .271 .784 .70 4.20 4.90 1.5 .94 .18 1.33 2.20 7.9 Kenny Thomas 24 14 28.7 .474 .000 .656 2.60 4.90 7.50 1.4 .96 .29 1.54 2.50 9.3
If we still had Kenny Thomas........................ It would still be very screwed up. Maybe we would have gotten Shareef Abdur Rahim or Ray Allen!!! But anyways. Kenny........he was OK but too small and lost the ball a lot while he was spinning around. He could have been a small forward.....that's what he is now mostly on the 76ers. James Posey. We should not resign him if he asks for too much money. I hope Nachbar wasn't a bust. Maybe he can be another Stojakovic.
That was the plan from training camp. He was doing a great job at the 3. He even kept Grant Hill in check during the preseason game. In regards to turnovers. Yes he did turn the ball over but not anymore than posey. Look at the stats and I'm not including air balls as turnovers either which would add about 2 a game for Pose.
lol.....Posey and his airballs. God. He really can't shoot. Even when he is wide open. We need a young Glen Rice.....
Not many. Posey hustles and is athletic but no one hustled more the KT and Posey's D is way overrated. This has been a failure of a trade so far. Posey's has had bad game after bad game with the occasional good game in the mix. Posey's offense is worse than Shandon Andersons offense.
Shandon Anderson owned James Posey. Posey did horrible against Jordan. And he also had 5 fouls. He deserved to sit out.................. TOO BAD WE LOST!!!!!!!
Think about it this way. There was no way we were going to stick with Glen Rice, TMo, and Nachbar at SF going into next season. If we didnt trade for him Posey, we couldve easily signed him to a large contract. Now, we know what we're getting, there's no way managment will give a good contract to a one-dimensional player defensive player that can't always defend.
That does not make me feel any better because if we wouldn't have made the trade, we would be in the playoffs this year. EG would still have time to learn how to shoot in practice and Hawk and Boki would get more playing time. Now we are stuck in the same situation this offseason except we may not make the playoffs. (I'm a homer so I still think we will make it)
Well, if EG kept sitting on the bench, we wouldnt know how bad his game is. This way we're killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Plus EG needed to play. We had to figure out how much he's developed - which is not very much. You can't let your 20 year old sit on the bench and waste time. What would happen when his contract expires? Now we know and can make a lot more informed decision on what to do during the offseason.
