Okay, I know I have asked this question in several threads, but I just wanted to start one more so I can get the most definitive answer possible.

Will Steve, Cuttino, and Cato play in Portland? I am not asking if they should play, I'm asking if they will play. If anyone has heard anything about their status, please let me know.

I can't wait to make the three hour trip just to see Tierre Brown and Jason Collier fumble around in a forty point thrashing. I guess that's what I get for ordering tickets to see my favorite team play, a month in advance. F***!

At least you'll get to see the spectacular play of Terence Morris :)

I'd be suprised if Cat didn't play. 2 games resting an injury?

No, I don't have a definite answer, but at least it pushes your thread and my post count up. :)

Well F***, thanks a lot Rudy! The least you could do is start Eddie Griffin, but no, we'll be forced to enjoy the brick city performances of Dan Langhi and Terrence Morris.

For ailing Rockets, eight is enough barely

DENVER -- The Rockets' season will end fittingly, with top scorers and captains Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis out and the team struggling to reach the league minimum of eight healthy players.

Francis, Mobley and veteran center Kevin Willis were left in Houston on Monday and will miss the final games tonight in Denver and Wednesday in Portland.

Mobley has been battling the flu since April 6. Francis, who is out with a strained right shoulder, had an MRI last week that showed inflammation but no tear, and team physician Bruce Moseley will do more tests today to see if there is further damage.

"Cuttino is still not feeling well," Rockets trainer Keith Jones said. "They said it was just viral stuff. With just two games left, he's not feeling well enough to get on a plane, going to altitude and taking the chance on dehydration.

"Steve has some inflammation. We're going to check him out more and make sure there's not a tear."

Mobley and Francis comprise the league's only backcourt in which each guard averages 20 points or more. Mobley will end the season as the team's leading scorer at 21.8 points per game, ending Francis' two-year hold. Francis will finish at 21.7.

Willis is out with a strained left knee. Dan Langhi (sprained right ankle) and Kelvin Cato (strained left knee) both missed Sunday's game, but at least one of them will have to be in uniform for the Rockets to satisfy the NBA's requirement of eight players.

Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich said he was eager to give his first- and second-year players more playing time.

"I'm kind of excited to see Tierre (Brown) play minutes and not just spot time. Also Oscar (Torres)," Tomjanovich said. "We're hopeful Dan can play.

"Cuttino has really had a warrior season without people really knowing. When Steve was hurt, he was really ailing, too. He's just worn down.

"Steve has been really hurting for a while. You could see the last couple of weeks with the shoulder, he was always trying to loosen it up, and it was affecting his shot."

    Oh my God.

    Mooch/Tierre
    Oscar/Langhi?
    Langhi
    KT
    Collier

Is that a horrendous team or what?

Take any roster in the league, and make a worse starting line-up.
    LOL!

With a loss to Denver, and again to Portland, we're DEFINITELY going to get 5th spot right?

If we get 5th and 14th, I'm pretty sure we'll get Ming or Odom. We're not picking 2, and we're not keeping KT.

Tmo could average a double double in the next couple of years. (literally, like 10 and 10). He's like Shawn Marion without the aggressive scoring ability, definitely capable of becoming one of the best rebounding sfs in the league.

That may be true, but the question remains...can the Denver Nuggets beat that lineup?
