I think the perfect point guard for this team would be steve nash.

He can shoot and he can pass and he very efficient at it. With battier and Artest his D wouldn't be as exposed as it was with parker last year.

    With a starting lineup of

    shane
    ron
    scola
    yao
    nash

We would have a great mix of offense and defense.

Just wish the suns would go into fire sale mode.

Deron Williams, even though I hate to say it but hes the perfect size, good defensive player, great passing, good scorer.

I think Nash is better suited for a team that runs up and down the court a lot. I don't see the Rockets ever being a good offensive transition team as long as they have T-Mac and Yao as the primary scorers.

Edit: Oh, I didn't notice that you inteded to trade T-Mac for Nash. Not sure about that.

    Won't happen.

I like mcgrady coming off the bench tho, he can seriously lead the second unit to score.

With the personal that we have now I have no problem with Rafer.... He doesn't turn the ball over a whole lot, and he sets up the offense pretty good. He and a healthy Steve would be just fine with the line up that we have now

...and I think the perfect SF for this team would be Lebron James.

I concur, decent assist to turnover ration. Also all this talk of good/excellent PG's, which all star are you willing to give up?? With 3 premiere scorer's, 4 if you want to include Scola, so 4 Scorer's all Rafer really needs to do is improve his passing game. He already is a good defender. I would really like to see him bring more "Skip to my Lou" passing and dribbling....

I used to think the same thing! I now would beg to differ with you!
Nash is great in Phoenix because they played the uptempo game, just watch now as his game will become less efficient as they play a slower game inorder to have Shaq be more effective. :p

    I'd go with:

    Howard
    Duncan
    LBJ
    Kobe
    Paul

I think that team could get us out of the first round for sure. I wish the Magic, Spurs, Cavs, Lakers and Hornets would have a fire sale.

Nash would be great I agree, but he would be reduced to a lesser player. His 3pt attempts per game would have to sky rocket. His antics of running around in the paint would have to be reserved for when he is out there with guys like Landry, Barry, Battier, Dorsey, Hayes.

Deron would be better. Whereas Nash would have to fit in, Deron would take reign as offensive orchestrator. Every player would have to reconstruct their game to fit better with Deron. The learning curve would be steeper. We would eventually be better than with Nash but not as quick.
