I think that we had a good offseason but still we missed the opportunity to be champions again, I really liked the Willis trade (Willis is amazing playing this season even better than Hakeem) , but all the other movers were wrong, Griffin looks ok, but not superstar like we hoped he would be (I know its very early but he wont have big impact this year) we should have drafted Jefferson like we did , Tinsley and G.Wallace /Randolph, Tinsley is a better younger playmaker/defensive player then mooch and he is also cheaper, saving the money on mooch would allow us to sign Marc Jackson (make a better offer) and you cant even compare Rice/Taylor to Webber , there is nothing to say about Taylor except we're screwed and Rice is playing really bad and he is only getting older/expensive every year. if we had this lineup we would be one of top 3 teams in the nba :

Jackson/Cato
Webber/Willis
Jefferson /K9
Mobley/Walt/G.Wallace
Francis/Tinsley

This lineup is scary and it would be amazing to see Webber Mobley Francis and Jefferson on the floor together. Too bad we missed our opportunity but I am still very optimistic, the rockets are playing good this season and Francis is amazing and we would be in the playoff if we would keep playing like this.

I like the Griffin trade...I don't think we could have fit in three rookie contracts and Webber's max contract...

...not to mention the fact that Webber was staying in Sacramento from the very start...

I think we did pretty good...Rudy and Co. reacted very well to Taylor's injury...

On a side note, Willis and Kenny probably won't be back next year, either...

1) Griffin is a rookie.
2) Signing Moochie had nothing to do with what we could've offered Jackson(we were already at or over the cap).
3) We never really had a chance at Webber, without gutting our team in a sign & trade.
4) Rice hasn't had but 4 games & part of a preseason game to get in shape, after not working out at all during the off season.
5) As for the 3 rookies you picked, I'll take Griffin's future potential over them anyday. Oh yeah, we also got T-Mo.
6) We are 3-1
7) You're clueless!

1) Griffin is a damn good rookie and is only, barely, 19 years old(!);
2) Moochie won a game for us already;
3) Webber, by hisself, was not as good as what we have instead;
4) Rice already looks like he's coming around;
5) The 3 rookies we picked were FOR NJ, not necessarily what we would have chosen;
6) We are 3-1, and realistically should have won against Minnesota;
7) What is and what will never be....

Just to point out two things other people have brought up:

7) You're clueless!

7) What is and what will never be....

(It's never a bad time for a Led Zeppelin reference! Rock on!)

The Rockets used the medical exemption to make an offer to Jackson. If the Rockets dumped Mo and went after Webber, then there is no Jackson. Besides the Warriors would have matched it, so no Jackson. Those picks you used to get Jefferson and rookies likely would have gone to Sacramento in a package that gutted our team to get the guy. Tinsley is a rookie making an impact RIGHT NOW! No way would he have come off the bench, and in the long run would have probably asked for more money then Moochie. So the Rockets go from an experience point guard to a rookie PG. Also if the Rockets HAD gotten Jackson they wouldn't have gotten Willis because we got Willis with the medical exemption (they sent a 2nd round pick to Denver and the exemption to Milwaukee), so you would have had to get Willis or Jackson. And without Mo, you get NEITHER of them.

Behad,

Dazed and Confused is more fitting.

Heh, and imagine what people would be saying if Webber gets hurt, and Jackson is out of shape (considering both happened...)

I'll take Taylor+Griffin+Rice over Webber+Jackson every day of the week.

Stop trying to pile on Mo. He's still a high percentage mid range shooter that doesn't rely on blinding quickness on either end of the floor.

And saying Griffin looks like he won't be a superstar? Are we watching the same player? I'm watching a 6'11'' hybrid forward that has gotten noticeably bigger and stronger over the summer, that has been hitting 3 pointers and outside shots significantly better than Wallace, Duncan, or Garnett could at the same age, contained KG in the regular season, and played well against Duncan and Robinson in the preseason. He doesn't need to prove his post moves in the NBA- he showed and college, RMR, and has flashed a couple in the preseason and regular season a devastating turnaround that coupled with his length, height, and quickness is nearly impossible to stop. Garnett did not have this at age 19.

Due to the MJ craze, I've been able to see Kwame Brown play some, and Griffin looks better than Brown, and he's younger. Brown has that deer in the headlights look the Swift had last year. Griffin is smooth. Kevin Willis tells it like it is, and he said Griffin is going to be great one.

Yeah... well, I think the Rockets really botched it this off season... Our Lineup should be:

Francis/Kidd - PG
Kobe/Mobley - SG (how about a hybrid guard.. Kuttino Kobley)
Garnett/Glenn Robinson - SF
Webber/Duncan - PF
Shaq/Willis - C

Than, we might be better than a lousy 3-1!!

Dude, there was no way Milwaukee was letting Robinson go. I think you need to let up on CD.

F_R,

If you had followed the off-season as close as most everyone on this board, you'd realize CD & RT did the absolute best they could given the circumstances they faced.

CWeb...didn't want us, except maybe as leverage
EG...is a stud at 19 and will be a Super Star at 21
TMo...will be better than Jefferson in 2 yrs
MoT...was cheap for what he brings and his potential
Mooch...is a cornerstone of "Our Team"...perfect role player
Willis...is perfect for our youth movement...his experience and toughness will make our kid's men sooner
Rice...was a steal for Shandon...he's playing w/pain and out of shape...before yr is over we'll be happy we have him

U can dream and fantasize all u want, but BL is we did the best we could.

This drives me crazy when people get down on EG. Like everyone else is saying he is only 19 years old. Look at how good most of the players straight out of high school were there second year in the league which is where EG would be if he came straight out of high school. Kobe Bryant averaged about 10 pts of the bench. Kevin Garnett averaged about the same. Tracy McGraddy barely played. By the end of the year I think EG will average about 8 pts a game with limited playing time just like Kobe, Garnett, and McGraddy had.
