Are the NBA owners are not stupid. They know how to make money. But they don't care about fans and basketball. They only love money.

I was a Bulls fan. But two Jeffs didn't bother to break the greatest legend in NBA history and forced MJ to retire because they didn't want to pay the players market prices even though the teams made a huge profits. Two jeffs figured even if MJ, scotty, rodman all gone, they still can ride their reputation for a while and make more money. They are right on this. But it's bad to fans. Bulls dropped like 40-50 wins in the coming years.

Does Les want an offensive, fast paced team? probably it is true. Then trade yao. He's probably the slowest player in NBA by nature. He can't survive in a Pheonix system. And by the way, Pheonix can't win championship even they have tremandous talents. I don't know other fans if they want offensive team or not. For me I like to win, specially I love the defensive teams who will do dog fight, who will make a run when it's matters, who will stop the other team down the streach, just like what Spurs did in the5th game. That's ugly and beatiful. The defence brings championships.

I think Rockets just can't match the talents with other four elite Western teams and probably in the same talent level with lakers, denvers and GS. But Rockets are really well coached. That's why they were very stable (good word) or predictable (bad word) this seaon. They took care business. They blew out bad teams and struggled with the elite teams. That's how they got the 5th seeds. They can't afford any mistake because they are not talented enough. That's why JVG didn't play V span although I don't agree coach's decision but I understand it.

If rockets can't add another all-star or semi all-star and a backup pg, they will not do much better. And If they apply the offensive up-tempo game next with the current scad, it might be disaster because these guys can't move ball (see Head) and can't score efficiently (see RA).

Trade for Ron Artest and keep coach JVG.

Gundy didn't play Wells who is alot more sane than Artest. Gundy helped bring in Battier and he's not going start Artest over his hand-picked $Ball player. Unless of course, you are suggesting Battier for Artest...in that case Adelman already has a much stronger track record with nut cases like Wells and Artest.

Pilkingtons and Napoleons all of them - what is the difference? I can't see it.

GATER: JVG didn't play Bonz but he did play Latrell.

All I remember is in the preseason how we were just blowing out the other teams. All our scrubs were producing and Novak was putting up 17 pts a game. V-Span was a turnover machine but had some decent drives to the hole and Yao compared V-Span to Steve Nash with his passing. Our team looked unbeatable with two units coming in and out for each other. We regularly scored over 100 points. Alston was about the same as reg season. T-Mac said this was the best team he had ever been on. Head was about the same as regular season. Yao was putting up points.

Then the NBA season started and we went back to Van Gundy ball and the 8 man rotation. C'mon the bench players are good. Damn good. This is the NBA and you don't get here if you can't play!

I say we have enough talent as is!

Why don't you put up a few million of your dollars so that we can get a big free agent and get to the second round next year?

Of course the owenrs care about money. And it's easy to talk about "only caring about money" when you're talking about SOMEBODY ELSE'S money.

SF: Latrell choked PJ....I don't recall...what else did he do? Among other things, Artest has crawled into stands to retaliate against fans and wanted to put his basketball career on hold to be a Rap star. He also wanted the Kings to keep both Wells and Adelman.

IMHO, If you're going to take a risk on Artest, Van Gundy is not the coach you should be taking it with. He likes total focus with disregard for talent. A good combination for the Hayes' and Battiers' of the world. A bad combination for the Andersons, Swifts, Wells, and Artests of the NBA.
