People in Orlando sees Boki as just a THROW-IN as part of the trade and I have seen quotes in the other forum "Nachbar or whatever his name is" but to us in Houston is different. So why lose something more valuable to us and meaningless to the fans there? Who's going to HANG OUT WITH YAO if Boki goes..... I wonder if Yao even know BOKI might be part of this trade? I'm just hoping the deal is Tmac/Howard/Gaines/Lue for Francis/Mobley/Cato But I've seen and read from this forum that Boki is part of this deal. JUST SAY IT AINT SO!!!
Why not? What has he shown you ON the court? He has major bust potential written all over him as of right now, tons of DNPCDs...
I hope that he doesn't go, but if that is what is needed to bring Tmac here, then it needs to be done.
Look I don't want Boki to leave either. He's got the talent to be a productive player for us. But if the choice is: 1. Include Boki in order to make the trade for T-Mac work or 2. Don't include Boki and screw up the T-Mac trade I would definitely choose #1.
2 reasons why I wouldn't want to trade Boki: 1) Boki was our only "future prospect." Yes, Yao is still young, but it seems that him being dominant is almost a given. Boki brought the X-factor, the will he become a good enough player to be a 3rd weapon type player. He'd shown flashes of being that player (TAKE THAT MALONE!) 2) Yao's friends with him. Yao was also friends with Steve. Take away his two friends and he's left to befriend Pat Ewing or Jeff Van Gundy. I guess 2 years is enough time to get acclimated to a culture, but having friends around always makes it easier and nicer.
yeah cause he was under a system in Rudy and JVG where they don't play rookies all that much and you have to build trust and then you will get your time. Everyone saw at the end of the season and the playoffs that Boki can play and will bring something. We he gets a chance to play he will compliment the team really well and will shine. So what? we throw him in a deal and say he could be a bust and then see him turn into something good. He is in the last year or his contract so he has to play good. If he really doesn't show anything then we don't resign him. What do we loose? nothing really. He's not making that much but has a lot of upside.
If Boki is going to be included then I say NO. Just Trade Farcis/Mobley/Cato to Charlotte for nothing then.
Nahhhh, my Boki Love started last year when he was still familiarizing himself with RudyT's pine department.
Dont get me wrong .... If we have to trade Boki to get Tmac I'm all for it. But I'm wondering is Boki just going to be a THROW-IN just to match salary? or can we not get Gaines and keep Boki. or can we NOT GET GAINES or LUE or DECLERQ and keep Boki
Does that mean he's your good luck charm? He isn't doing anything on the court anytime soon unless he's spending 16 hours a day at the gym, working on his defense and shooting.
Were you there? Did you see it in person? I was, and I'll never forget it. Boki's foul against Karl in Game 4 was one of the top 3 plays of the series.
Just look at that face............ :'( ...Just a poor young boy looking for a place to call home [hint...Houston]. Don't do it CD!!! Just say noooooo.
Everyone here's pretty sure he's due for a breakthrough this season. You wont find many people dogging Boki who aren't just looking for a dumb punchline. Euros just develop differently. It wasn't just him taking it to Malone. He started to hit shots and play hard defense in general is what made the fans like him. You could see his confidence growing every minute he was out there, and up until that point, he just didn't really believe in anything he was doing out there. He looked confused. Who knows how good he can be playing with confidence game in game out. The minutes are certainly there for the taking. Jim Jacksons not getting any younger and it's not in our best interests to keep him playing 40 mins a game. You could even argue it was his heavy minutes that held him back a bit in the playoffs. I could see Boki and JJ splitting time at the 3, maybe Jackson getting 30ish, Boki getting 20ish and then seeing who's more effective. Do we even have a 12th man anymore after the T-Mac trade? Our roster doesn't look near as bad as some people were making it sound. But still, no way we should give up Bostjan Nachbar if we absolutely don't have to.
Boki will probably go and for me personally it sucks because his game is on its way up. I also got an original Rockets jersey authographed by Boki, I got it last season at the Rockets vs Bucks game. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, frame it? don't wear it anymore? It was over 200 dollars and I will look stupid, stupider wearing a Boki jersey if he gets traded.
