Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled that the Fantastic Four didn't win it all this year. This thread goes out to the two tools I saw out last night wearing Kobe Bryant jerseys. I'm sure they'll be wearing some sort of Pistons jersey next year, so before everyone else jumps on the Pistons bandwagon, let me be the first to jump on the anti-Pistons bandwagon.
I'm sorry, but there is NO way anyone on this board could hate anyone who beats the fakers. NO WAY. Heck, even if it was the J4zz-h0l3s, sans Karla and sans Stuck-without-a-ring-ton, i'd cheer for the Pistons. Sorry, my man, you're preachin' to the wrong choir... ... and I've never been in a choir...
If the NBA fans and execs jump on their bandwagon, it'll be good for the game. Make the focus intensity and teamwork instead of overpaid superstars? Come on. Sign everyone up that you can. Joe Dumars for President. Evan
Ordinarily I would start hating on the Pistons now. But, I just can't seem to manage it. Even while I'm annoyed with Larry Brown, I still like the Pistons. Maybe if they're completely overhyped next year, I'll switch. But, I expect everyone will overlook the Pistons again (though perhaps not quite as much) just like they did the '95 Rockets.
Wait a few days and see how everyone jumps on the bandwagon. All the punks with their Kobe Bryant and Shaq jerseys are going to go buy Pistons gear. It's like when Stevie Ray Vaughan died; I knew I was going to get sick of him, because everyone was going to be worshipping him from then on. Please understand - I actually like the Pistons a lot. And I couldn't be happier that they won the Championship. I just dread the Piston-worship that I expect to see soon.
i expect people to root for the champion. seen it over and over and over again. doesn't diminish what the team did to me. they'll always be "good guys" to me. the way the old pistons were to me, as well.
Are we accepting Faker fans to this BBS? Anyone who defeats the Lakers in the NBA Finals are worthy to be praised on this board.
You won't see any Piston bandwagoning because they don't have that go to guys like the Lakers and other teams do. The Pistons are actually A team.
You can insult my mother, you can shoot my dog, you can have s3x with my ex-wife... but if you suggest that I am a Laker fan, I'm going to get upset. Lol. This thread is, like almost everything I post here, a joke. Maybe I should start an I LOVE the Pistons thread.
Why would you hate someone or some team just because other people like them? I would think your opinion of the Pistons would be based on what you think of them, not what the rest of the country does.
Don't you think the Lakers were even more annoying than they would have otherwise been because of the way everybody fawned over them? Whining bandwagoning Laker fans made me hate the team that much more. I'm hoping it won't happen with the Pistons, because they don't have a superstar player. But if everyone starts riding their jock like they used to do with Shakobe, the Pistons will become my favorite team... for me to poop on. Right behind the Lakers and Jazz.
then hate the fair weather fans, not a team that played with more heart, intelligence and focus than ive seen in years. besides, call it what you want: jumping on the bandwagon or "seeing the light" - regardless, its a show of respect, something the pistons most definitely EARNED.
I once heard a black comedian joke that he would cheer for a KKK team if they were playing the Lakers. Can't remember his name, though...he was really bad.
I think my stay on the Pistons bandwagon will be relatively short. I did enjoy the ride, and am glad i hopped on, but i fully expect to be open for other accomodating bandwagons next year, if none of the teams for which i have reserved bandwagon seats goes deep into the playoffs. No hate. Enjoyed the visit. But am fully prepared to move on.
