I am sorry to say it, and add another thread, but I have officially given up hope on this team for this season. Just too much has gone wrong as of late, and I just want the season to be over. I still love the rockets, and think we have the potential to be a top 3 team in the league but just not this year. I still can not give up hope on swift, and I think alston can really turn into something big for us.

On a side note, a major reason for me giving up is our home performance. I was lucky enough to go to 7 games already this season and we lost all of them!~!!!
I have said I will not go to another game this season...and that is my rant....

I refuse to give up on the season...this team plays hard every night and get the most out of what they have available...Once this team gets its full complement of players, then I'll make the adequate judgments regarding them...but they'll always have my 100% support...

I'm with you Juice. There is something wrong when we shoot over 50% in the first half and still only score 39 in the half. The fact is, we still shot 44% for the game (not terrible), yet scored 77 points. I know we missed free throws, but part of this has to go to our offensive sets. If we are having to shoot 55% just to get to 90 points, that is a problem. I realize it is unfair to put this on Van Gundy when the team has been hurt all year, but he just has no idea how to get anything done offensively besides TMAC off a pick and roll. That is my rant.

Giving up on this season means shut up, click the "x" button on the upper right corner, and never log on again unless we start winning again, you bandwagoner.

Just a question...what is wrong with T-Mac? ever since Kobe scored 81, he has began to take a lot of shots...and most of those shots are horrible. Has anyone else noticed this? I am honestly beginning to believe that T Mac needs to improve on his inside game, rather than taking those 3 pointers, which are just not hitting lately.

The low points were due to about 29 turnovers, plus missing over 10 free throws, plus going 3 for infinity from 3 point land.

This team showed zero emotion after the first quarter. It was disgusting. Yao is never gonna get calls unless we decide as a team we are not putting up with the bologna on the inside and hack the dickens out of somebody and force the refs to call it tight in the paint. When Yao plays, our turnovers go up, because he gets beat up, beat down, beat on, and beat around and the refs swallow the whistle. We need Juwon or Chuckie or Lonnie, somebody, to go down the other end, and lay a hard, hard foul on somebody inside near the bucket. Someone on this team needs to stir some emotion and passion in these guys and get the refs off their .......... and pull the whistle out of their earhole and blow it. We have to force our will on the opponents. TMac and Yao are too good for opponents to be enforcing their will upon us, which happens game in and game out.

Obviously by now, we've figured out that Stro is just the Cat in the Hat. He has zero emotion, zero intelligence, and zero drive. Hayes, Baxter, or Juwon,.......one of the boys needs to send a message to this team and to our opponents that we ain't gonna be the league whipping boys anymore.

Why hasn't Van Gundy gotten this message out yet? We have exactly one leader on this team, TMac. The rest of those boys are just followers. Even Wesley is not showing the energy, leadership, and emotion that he should be showing. Rafer needs to get back the emotion he played with in Miami. This team needs Sura back kicking somebody's tail. There is no vocal driver on this team......just Van Gundy chewing the guys down to a nub every time they make a booboo. They are playing way too tight, too worried about making a mistake than just making a play. This team plain and simple needs more leaders and needs to extract the dead weight, unmotivated, backward, unconfident players from it.

Send Stro to Atl along with whatever else and get Harrington in here.......now!

Even if the Rockets are healthy, there are still 13 likely losses remaining on the schedule.

There is a killer two weeks in March. Remember, the Clippers are good, San Antonio and Dallas are battling for the top, and the Rockets have trouble with OKC.:

    Sun 12 @ San Antonio
    Mon 13 New Jersey
    Wed 15 Dallas
    Sat 18 San Antonio
    Mon 20 L.A. Clippers
    Tue 21 @ Dallas
    Thu 23 @ NO/Okla. City
    Sun 26 Cleveland

I have not given up. I am sure that we will come back end up winning 39 games and just miss the playoffs but still have terrible drafting position.

I just wish so bad we could make the dance. It would be even better if we are 8 and Dallas is 1.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. And I do realize that as bad as it is right now, that we are still in the playoff picture.

But for what??? If we get there with this bunch we are gonna get blowed up in the first round and it will be worse than last year. That's why we need to make a trade and at this point it really doesn't matter who goes out save TMac and Yao..............because NOBODY else on this team is a difference maker. We need a player with a huge sack and something in it, that will be a leader with his play and his mouth, that won't whine to the refs on the court, but will get in somebody's face that ain't putting out, and will bring a halt to all the garbage hacking, slapping, holding, pushing, pulling, etc. that goes on unabated on Yao. We need a dude that can get off his own shot, can play some smart defense, and will go lay a hard foul on somebody when the game gets out of hand and the refs are swallowing the whistle.

Otherwise, we are gonna get chewed up in 5 games or less in the first round.........if we make it.

We need a shooting guard - a real shooting guard, not these undersized combo guards who run hot & cold. I don't know if it's DA or Barry or Sura or trade we can make or a FA or rookie for next season, but we need somebody to hit shots. It's called SHOOTING guard!

All I'd really like to see is for this team to get fully healthy (or as close as possible) and start finding some chemsitry and playing with some enthusiasm and excitement (like that impressive 5-1 west coast road trip that was oh so long ago and was, sad to say, the high point of the season). I'd love for them to make the playoffs, but I'm honestly not seeing it at this point. Just give me something enjoyable to watch for the rest of the season and something to look forward to next year and I'll be a happy camper. Bring on the 'Stros!

No way. It ain't over till its over. Tonight's loss was depressing for sure, and I could well be the saddest fan here tonight. But I'm not throwing in the towel yet. There is still hope. If we're still funking like this after the all star break, then I'll throw in the towel. But there is still hope. Yao's not 100% yet, and we can still look forward to Barry and Sura. As depressing as it feels now, it definitely isn't time to give up on the season yet. And I dare say anyone who feels otherwise is not a true Rockets fan. Flame me if you will.

only the astros had oh... i don't know.... 117 more games to get on track?

i'm not saying it's impossible, because hell the astros did it for only the second time in history (making the playoffs, and i think both the astros and the braves also went to the world series? or am i wrong?)

still though, to me it's a lot harder in basketball with half the games to play to get back on track.

the rockets are almost at the same mark (being 15 under .500), but with 40 games or so to play.

it's fine to have optimism, but a tombstone won't resurrect this team.

40 something games? i wish, more like 38, and to make the playoffs i think it will take atleast 43 wins. so lets do the math, we need to go 28-10 the rest of the way to have a sniff at the playoffs as an 8th seed. Is it possible? yes, is it improbable? yes. do i still have hope? yes

Our next 5 are very winnable (Bucks, sonics, knicks, sixers, lakers). utah's next 5 are very tough (denver, kings twice, bulls, wolves). Utah losing 5 straight, rox winning 5 straight is very possible. Which would put us right in the thick of things for the eight seed. I'm not ready to call it a season yet.

The towel is about to slip out of my hand. With Yao back, we can't even get our first division victory half way through the season. I am just sick...

BTW, I just found out Yao has less athleticism than I do. The only difference is he's 7'6'', and I am 6'0''. Only if he could jump, we'd have a monster downlow. Too bad he can't.
