Found this on that Jazz Sports Radio site in one of the other threads: The NBA has announced tonight's officials are Joe DeRosa, Bill Spooner and Derrick Stafford. And here's what a Jazz fan had to say about it: "For those who are wondering, the Jazz records (this season) when each of these officials is on the floor: Joe DeRosa 3-3 Bill Spooner 1-2 Derrick Stafford 0-2 None of these officials has officiated a Jazz/Houston game this season or in the playoffs..." Edit: Damn, I put this in the wrong forum.
it's possible that these refs officiated together during the regular season, so it might not be 11 games. but the non-winning record bodes well for Houston getting fair calls I'd say.
I don't know how you can say that without researching first what the Houston Rockets record is with those officials. In the grand scheme of things those records mean nothing. Whose to say those losses weren't at the beginning of the season when they were struggling like us. There's just too many factors in wins and losses.
Looks like 4 wins in 11 games, but they could have worked some together. Worst possible record is 4-7 (If they didn't work any of the games together). Best possible record is 4-2 (If they worked the most possible games together). Actual record is probably somewhere in the middle...which is probably right around 50%. Or maybe I'm not thinking straight. Highly likely.
Just found this awesome site. It gives detailed profiles of each ref. Here are the refs for tonight's game, listed on the same page... Ref Profile for Game 6
if thats how its read (3-3 meaning 3 wins and 3 losses, not 3 wins out of 3 games), then i think the combinations are: worked max games together: 3-3 (wash for us) worked no games together: 4-7 (good for us) min overlapping wins/maximum overlapping losses: 4-2 (good for jazz) max overlapping wins/minimum overlapping loses: 3-7 (better for us) or the refs could make no difference. how do you even find a team's record based on ref?
Why? DeRosa is 4th in the "Homer" ranking Stafford is 7th in the "Homer" ranking Spooner is 24th in the "Homer" ranking That's out of 62 refs. Not so promising if you ask me I wanted Steve Javie (#58) and as much as we've given Tony Brothers a hard time, he's #62. Home teams actually have a losing (35-39) record with him officiating, which hurt us in Game 2...but could have helped us tonight.
Here's how we fared this season: DeRosa 1-2 Spooner 3-1, with the loss coming to the C's in Boston with no McGrady Stafford 2-0
It appears they didn't work any of those Jazz games together, so the overall record is 4-7, but the only home loss (out of 4) was the Lakers, which DeRosa officiated. Doesn't appear any of these officials worked together for a Rockets game either, so the overall record is 6-3, but with just 1 road win (Clippers - Stafford) out of 4.
