Hope Dwight doesn't OPT-IN, hope DM can find a trade partner for TJ and D-MO. Bring in Al Horford, Joakim Noah and Brandon Jennings. Dwight's game has become obsolete in today's NBA. Horford gives us a front court presence, spreads the floor and plays effective defense. Noah has good hands, plays defense and is a good passer, plus he would come cheap! Brandon Jennings is an effective ball handler, can shoot and penetrate. Finally, WE HAVE TO HIRE TOM THIBODEAU! Thibs can attract Noah, Noah can attract Horford and besides Harden and Thibs seems to have a good relationship. Let's go Rockets!!!!
Howard isn't opting in, Howard seems good as gone. Same for Smith, Terry, TJ and maybe Dmo. I'm guessing we will pursue Whiteside, Horford, Gasol hard as Howard replacements. Of course will take a shot at Durant, after that likely fails we will probably look at Barnes/Batum Possible chance we go after Conley too. I say go young by going hard after Whiteside and Barnes, extends Hardens championship window significantly.
Dwight's problem isn't "today's NBA"... he just can't shoot and has a weak post game. He would've experienced those same problems in any Era.
there's no way dwight opts in. He's unhappy here, his role has declined. Only way there's a chance is if let say we make a deep playoff run and get to the finals making Dwight more willing to stay, that PLUS him realizing he doesnt have very good market value at his age so he finishes off his contract. But neither of those is realistic so he's as good as gone.
The offseason started the minute Morey said he trusts JB with the team. Truthfully though it started when we started the season being blown out by 20 three games in a row (A League Record). Many of us knew then but were called bad fans, lol. Also if it wasn't over those two times then it was certainly over at the trade deadline when Morey decided to keep the same bench including Corey Doo Doo. As soon as it was evident that Doo Doo would stay with us the season was officially over.
A prime Ben Wallace might be better than Dwight for this team. That guy never gave up on effort. Just not long enough to get as many rebounds, blocks, or score. He was mostly just a solid defender.
I do like the idea of Horford and Noah. Our frontcourt would be pretty legit with Capela, Noah, Horford, Beasley and maybe Dmo. What's funny is we'd get Horford and Noah (the florida connection) but still wish we'd dump Brewer.
Hmm, this just made me realize how it really may be better to miss the playoffs. Not necessarily because of the pick, but if we make the playoffs and give away our 1st rounder, doesn't that mean that we'd be unable to trade next year's first rounder?
