Wow - that is pretty interesting. How did they get these photos? The satellite that they used was able to take these - security clearance? Couldn't/Shouldn't they classify this stuff to protect our national security?

I expect us to attack Iraq late this year or early 2003. Saudi Arabia won't let us use their bases for an attack on Iraq, so we do need something close, this may be part of it.

Don't worry. The moment you hit that site, the Feds got your IP address, location, and password to cc.net.

That's pretty cool how they can conceal those buildings to look like the surroundings...but I have this strange feeling that not too many Arab nations have satellites floating around looking for American installations.

rockHEAD, what did Democracy Now say? That site is purchasing pictures from a service. The commercial satellite companies license images to the public. Looks like other countries were doing this, so the US started allowing it. I'm sure it is declassified images, but maybe not.

This was the first to market.

The satellite was built by Lockheed Martin, with a license given by the govt. Here are the investors:

It makes note that other countries have such satellites in operation, so the Govt is allowing it for US companies. The passed a law in 1992 to allow it, specifically because there was other countries doing it.

Dept of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (<a href="http://www.noaa.gov/">NOAA</a>) regulates operations of these satellites. Here's a snippet from their FAQ regarding classified images:

basically they talked to a reporter who reported on it for a NY newspaper, they also had a snippet of Rumsfeld talking about it... it wasn't a big exposé or anything... just sorta "look whats out there" type report.

Ok, when you click that site and they find you and people who visited the site start dropping like flies, make sure to blame rHEAD and his tendency to find weird stuff like this! ;) Saddam Hussein said that he got a lot of his war info by watching CNN, well if that's the case he probably took a dump in his pants looking at that website! :D

They just put up the audio of today's show, so you can hear it. I listened to the whole show EXCEPT that part. If you want to hear it on the radio, it'll be on in the 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM hour on 90.1. The section of the base will likely come on at 11:48 or so.
