I was the hugest wrestling fan from about 4 years old until just when WCW was bought by Vince McMahon. It used to be a rush every week seeing WCW/WWE trying to outdo one another. Watching WCW go from its humble beginnings to taking over for awhile was a real fun thing to watch. The nWo is still one of the greatest angles in the history of the genre.

I quit watching a short while after WCW was bought out because I felt like the quality of WWE went downhill by having no competition. Lets be honest, watching WWE now is downright painful when compared to around 1999.

For the last 2 years, Ive been watching TNA wrestling on Spike TV. Simply because it had Sting, Kevin Nash, and the Steiners and some other familiar faces from the WCW glory time. It was low budget and reminded me of WCW in the late 80's. Then, about a year ago, Kurt Angle signed with TNA. Since then, the show has gotten better each week. The overall quality is better and is now two hours. Vince Russo, a writer of WWE fame, is doing much of the creative writing now instead of Jeff Jarrett (who glory hounded his way to the top for a long while) and after this past month with the addition of Scott Hall and now Booker T, it looks like they could be headed in the right direction.

Booker T...A pretty good pickup by TNA management...

I just didnt know if anyone else watched besides me. I mean WWE is basically a HHH & Steve Austin suckfest that got old years ago to me. There is some good young talent, mixed in with some of the familiar "dinosaurs" in TNA that make for an entertaining show. Dixie Carter, the owner, has said their ultimate goal is to eventually get enough ratings and support to compete against WWE and bring back the Monday Night Wars.

I, myslef, would love this. It would make WWE start to raise the quality of their shows and a little healthy competition is good for everyone. Two good wrestling promotions is better than one in my opinion.

Sorry to ramble. Just wanted to see if anyone else watched.

Ha, Ha, I think I was in denial until about 7 years old when Sting kept getting his ass kicked by The Four Horsemen and then he actually joined them...only to get his ass kicked yet again. No one could be that stupid.

Of course all the punches that missed by about 2 feet kind of wised me up too, lol.

I watch. Much more entertaining than WWE imo.

My only complaint would be them giving too much play to washed up wrestlers when they already have some talent on their roster. I mean, the Steiners? Really?

I was hoping the new addition would be Jericho, but I'm always hoping that.

I think Booker asked for his release after he got suspended for violating a wellness policy in WWE?

I think Jericho is back next week. Not sure, rarely watch WWE anymore. But I will tune in to see Monday Night Jericho :)

I like the nostalgia of the old wrestlers, but agree that they should be used to put over some of the younger talent. They are starting to do that. AJ Stlyes tag team beat the Steiners at the last PPV as well as Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley beating the Dudleys. Lets not overlook Kaz beating Christian for a Title shot against Kurt Angle. Theyre bringing in the older faces to gain recognition and now it looks like the younger guys will get more push.

I was hopeful for Jericho too, but Ive always been a Booker T fan. Thank god no more King Booker. Hated that.

No idea. Rumors are that the FBI brought his name up as one of the steroid users after the whole Benoit thing. Others say he just failed a drug test for smoking some weed. While he says he was just sick of HHH's backstage politics. Who knows.

I agree about the nostalgia. I want to see Hall work the mic and throw toothpicks in people's faces. But wrestle? Not so much.

I don't really understand the Kaz push. No personality. He's just another generic wrestler out there right now as far as I'm concerned. I'm hoping they bump him out of that spot(being the sole challenger) one way or another.

Kaz is going to fight Kurt Angle on Thursdays show. I highly doubt he will win the belt. He is a great technical wrestler (The Flux Capacitor is a great finisher!) but I agree that he has zero gimmick. Unfortunately, that wont get you too far in this business.

What you say about Hall is what I have said about Ric Flair for the last ten years. I dont want to see him away from wrestling, but I cant handle seeing him in the ring anymore. Hall wouldnt bother me as much, but just let him get on the mic every damn episode. He's really entertaining there. Hey, yo!

Yeah, WWE could use The Rock right about now. But he is a Box Office draw now, so I wouldnt count on him ever stepping back in the ring other than a few guest appearances.

Oh, I get it now. Similar to when Lethal got his shot. For some reason I was thinking he was getting a ppv title shot match.

i can't get into TNA b/c they keep pushing Samoan Joe, who is out of shape and can't work the mic to save his life.

Based on my experience, it has to do with staying in shape and maintaining a certain fitness level.

For WWE, it probably means that you have to say at a X level of being juiced.

Joe is actually what got me into TNA. I think he works the mic pretty good. His athleticism is surprising for all the weight he carries. He's one of the very few faces on the show that are worth a damn imo.

I have a hilarious story. Fall 1999 was a peak year for wrestling. There was a large TV with theater style seats in Jester West (it wasn't as nice as it sounds). The wrasslin nerds came out in full force every Monday. Wrestling wasn't something you watched in your room alone anymore. MNF got owned. It was standing room only to watch RAW. Slowly though the crowds dwindled and MNF took over by the end of my time in Jester. But we will always have that semester coming back from PCL, buying a pizza, and waiting for the main event.

I quit watching wrestling after Wrestlemania 2004. Triple H (I hate w/ a passion) plus no Rock and the storylines being crap, I stopped watching WWE after that.

I've caught glimpses of a few TNA shows, but it looked like WCW when it started. But w/ the pickups of Scott Hall and Booker T, I might give it a try.

If they start up the nWo or something like that in TNA, I'm hooked.
