I believe the newest Futurama Movie installment comes out tomorrow. This is the 2nd one since the first one came out "Bender's Big Score"

This one is dubbed "The Beast with a Billion Backs"

I already watched it, and can say it was pretty disappointing.

They recycled about 4-5 gags from previous episodes and the plot was just way too bizarre and out there (even for Futurama.)

Also - Not enough Bender / Zoidberg.

The entire movie was like a bad Valentine's Day Episode where someone wakes up at the end realizing it was all a dream. T

There were still some good jokes and a healthy dose of Zapp Brannigan / Calculon. But overall I think the two movies have not come close yet to the genius that was the series.

    I'd give it a 6/10.

Was it smart? That's what I like about the series. It's not insanely funny to me, but it has lots of 'heh' moments.

Its smart but I don't think it works well in 90 minute increments.

It just drags on too long and they have to put in more and more unfunny filler.

That's disappointing to hear. I thought Bender's Big Score was mediocre, and it sounds like this is more of the same.

Good to know they have some Brannigan, but I hate to hear that Zoidberg isn't prominently featured.

Are they going to go back to the 30 minute format or just release the movies?

yeah i saw this a few weeks back and felt the same way it wasnt terrible, had its moments but overall a bit of a letdown.

for some reason the 90 minute format doesnt do it for me, i am so used to shorter episodes that like halfway through the movie i was wondering how much longer there is to go. not because it was that terrible but it just seemed really long.

I actually really liked Bender's Big Score...did it drag a little; perhaps. But usually animated shows turned movies do that (except for South Park). I still felt it had all the components that made the series so great in the first place.

Futurama has a big following over here in Australia and they started to promote Australian exclusive new episodes "All new after five years".

Well they were all re-runs Id seen on cable, very dissapointing.

Havent seen Benders Big Score yet.

I just wish they'd get the series back up and running!

That sucks to hear. Ugh, I wish Comedy Central would just come to bat and order episodes of the show. This ridiculous format of making a DVD movie and then splitting them up into episodes is definitely why they are not as good. I know why they are doing it, it is cheaper to make a DVD movie than 3 or 4 episodes of the tv show. Plus they get money back right away with the DVD sales and rentals.

I liked Bender's Big score. This new one was good too but lacked some oomph.

The only tv/movie I ever cried for was the episode of Futurama where Fry's dog waits for him in the past until it eventually dies.

Man, that scene kills me, too. I can't watch that episode just because of that final scene.

That is a pretty sad final scene.

The last scene of the episode where Leela finds her parents is quite emotional too.

I gotta say, Bender's Big Score's funniest moments came with Zoidberg...then again, I guess you could say that was true of all of Futurama.

What about the lucky clover episode?

Philip J. Fry, named after his uncle and the first man on Mars got me.

    Don't you forget about me!

Zoidberg is the best...My favorite Zoidberg moment is when they have to go into Fry's stomach to get rid of the worms that were growing inside him and while the others are fighting off the worms, Zoidberg comes in asking "Guess where I've been?" riding on a sperm

Are they going to make new episodes? And if so, what day and time is it going to be?

There was some talk that Channel 10 in Australia could possibly revive the series because the old episodes rated so well during prime time.

But I think that was more wishful thinking.
