For the first time in alittle over 10 years, I have not witnessed a NBA FINALS game. I don't plan on during so , and haven't tryed so far, during this game 4. But why is the NBA having this type of effect on hundreds of fans, dozens that I know. Something has to change. I don't know what but the NBA needs a Makeover. Maybe it's just me. I don't neccersarily hate the lakers or a laker hater, but I'm having more fun now trying to predict what is happening than actually watching the game live with Bill, Steve, and Marv kissing some ass towards la.
So posting that post on this site is more entertaining to you than watching this great game? That's what you're saying?
I wouldn't know. I just said I wasn't watching the game therfore I really don't know the score. Apparently it's been a good game.
You missed a hell of a game, my man. Hopefully what you did while it was on was more entertaining and/or fulfilling.
What I didn't miss was the 12 year 12 minute long tribute that NBC produced and showed us at the end of there broadcast. Some nice overall moments. But I wouldn't be surprised to see those three next year in those same seats, so Bill Walton, "Please, stop crying.!"
In my opinion, the Lakers deserved 1 of their last 3 championships. The Blazers and Kings should be champions with them... I don't necessarily hate the Lakers, but I do hate those who keep pushing them. I think that most people are just sick of hearing Bill Walton's inane commentary echo around inside Shaq's thick skull. I'd like to say I'm through with the NBA, that I'm boycotting it, because the Kings should be the champions. But who am I kidding? By the end of next year's preseason, I'll be ready to forgive David Stern for fixing championships and watch the game without complaint... but only because I keep reminding myself that it doesn't affect me one bit, and it's just a game. That said, all NBA marketing scum should burn in hell.
Malone deserved a ring, Reggie deserved a ring Kings didn't get any calls what a pile of crap the players that deserve a ring are the ones that win it
ya ya more crap Kings didn't WIN, Kings didn't make their free throws what was the difference over the whole series again? 1 foul? get over it, it was a physical series, with the most difficult man in the league to officiate, compounded by the Kings flopping but for the one question I have in this series Where was Kenyon Martin in the first 3 games of the Nets series?
LOL. Yeah, and guys like Fisher and Fox NEVER flop right. Kings were raped in the 4th Q of game 6. Lakers were screwed over in game 5, but it wasn't nearly as bad as Game 6's utter joke. It never should have gotten to game 7. I'm not a big believer in the conspiracy theory, but Game 6 was beyond ridiculous. 27 FT's in one Q? That's just shameful. Some of those calls on Pollard and Divac were reprehensible and then the Bryant phantom foul on his drive which was stuffed by Webber. Kings were def playing 5 vs. 8 that Q.
I really don't give a damn about game 7, and I'm not complaining about it. Lakers won that game fair and square. But there shouldn't have been a game 7. If there was any justice, or maybe just a lack of Dick Bavetta, the Kings would have won game 6. All the crap they were forced to swallow that game is worth far more than the 4-point margin of victory.
? So in other words, neither of the two games (5 or 6) were called correctly. Why should the Kings have won the WCF then? Isn't it fair then that the refs correct that wrong and then have a final fair game to determine the series winner? I'm serious. Where is the breakdown in my logic? The Cat thinks game 5 was a pro-lakers called game so we're agreeing to disagree---but if you think it was weighted against LA, then why was correcting it and going to seven to determine it fairly wrong?
The rest of the series was fine... but not game 6. Granted, in game 5 that ball was off Webber. Fine. But that's one bad call. In game 4, Walker's 3 shouldn't have counted. That's one bad call. Switch the outcome of both and it's still 3-2. It was a poorly called series overall. However, most of the calls were spread out enough to be considered genuine mistakes. Honestly, I thought Walker's 3 was good until I saw the replay. I thought that ball wasn't off Webber until I saw the replay. That doesn't change the fact that Game 6 was ridiculous. I don't think it was any coincidence that the Lakers were about to be eliminated, and here comes Bavetta to save the day. The Lakers were blatantly favored throughout the entire game, especially in the 4th, and as I said, all the calls the Lakers got easily made up more than their 4 point victory.
I see it like this. Game 5, the refs favored SacTown. Some of the fouls Shaq got were crazy. However, Game 6 was just overboard. The refs practically handed that game to LA. I see your logic, but I'm not just a huge believer in 2 wrongs making a right, especially when the Game 6 atrocities exceeded Game 5's IMO.
How can people say this? No one thought that shot was late when it happened. Not the refs, not the fans, not the commentators, not even me and my friends sitting home watching. It wasn't until NBC showed the super slow mo replay that people began to question this shot. Yes, it was late. But IMO it would have counted no matter what player on any team shot it. It was just too damn close.
Tell that to Baron Davis, who clearly got his shot off at the end of a quarter but had it waved off. He was also on the visiting team.
All of this is true about poor officiating, but when it came down for the win, the kings had the chance just like the lakers. Game 5 and games 6 cancelled each other out. How does Shaq shoot 1 ft and fouls out and how do the Lakers shoot 25ft in the 4th qt. Both were bad, but game 7 was who wanted it more. If you're the Francis player in Webber and all you outscore a overblown role player by is 6 pts, you deserve to lose.
