    UPDATE: Posted video...
So, where does the Sam Dalembert half-court heave with plenty of time on the clock rank in terms of hilariously bone-headed plays by a Rocket?

The only one I remember comparable to it happened a few years ago, when Yao Ming inexplicably tried to steal the ball from Chauncey Billups at midcourt when the Rockets were up by something like 7 points with a minute or so left in the game and, as one might expect, fouled Billups. It was pretty much the worst foul ever, stopping the clock and giving 2 FTs to a 90% shooter on a play that a 7'6'' guy had no business attempting. I remember the whole team reacted in disgust-- Dikembe jumped up and lost his warm-up pants and the camera panned to Adelman's face as it froze into a stare of death.

Does anyone else remember anything else?

    Thanks! Good find.

And it was Yao Ming's 6th foul, too!

I forgot who this was against

we were down by 3 with like 3 seconds left, needs a three, Yao gets the ball like corner of the key, panics and shoots a midrange jumper. game ends...

I like how Clyde was the immediate bonehead-interpreter and knew exactly what Dalembert was thinking.

How about brad miller at the end of the suns game last season, throwing the ball away one and nearly twice.

i wouldn't have remembered this one off the top of my head but i remember watching that and it's my pick. it was hysterical (especially since we were up 9). yao, with 5 fouls, at halfcourt, not even facing billups, whips around to reach in, is comically far from actually making a steal, and fouls one of the best foul-drawers in the game, who also happens to be a 90% free throw shooter, and fouls out of the game. throw in adelman standing there silently as his brain explodes and i laughed a good while at that one. if we're comparing the stupidity of the act to the general smartness/dumbness of the player, this would be like javale dunking on the other team's goal...11 times in a row.

brad miller nearly throwing the ball away was hilarious for bill worrell's reaction.
