This topic is very important. There's a certain guy on this team who can go off for 20-25 points in a game, and then, in the next game, when we get the ball to him, turns the ball over the first three times he touches it, and his shot is off all night and he can't hit a wide-open jumper to save his life. No, he is not, IMO, a cancer, but he is not a guy you can feel secure with when the game's on the line and the ball's in his hands.

    Oh yeah...Kenny Thomas.

I love the dude when he's hot. When he's blowing by and dunking on Antonio Davis, when he's posterizing Raef LaFrentz, when he's nailing layup after layup over Pacer defenders and when he hits a tough jumpshot over Vlade Divac.

One thing that I've noticed, however, is how quickly discussions about Kenny will go from "Damn, this guy is a god" to "WTF! He doesn't know what the hell he's doing out there! Put Eddie in!"

We all love him when he's having a big scoring night, but I think something Kenny doesn't understand is sometimes, a player has an off-night. Say he's...1-8. Sure, we need his offense, but he doesn't try to get it within the flow of the game. He forces the issue so much. Sometimes, I just go, "Kenny! Kenny! Kenny! Kenny! Stop killing me!"

Don't get me wrong, aight? KT's my man. Stevie even labeled him the Rook of the Year back in '99. He's a hard worker who has proven he can start, and be very effective.

I don't know. Maybe I'm seeing things. But Kenny really does not like to pass to Eddie. I doubt there's any kind of rift between the two, because Eddie passes regularly to Kenny when he's posting up. Kenny, 93% of the time, won't pass to Eddie when he's open.

It's just beginning to drive me insane. I've always despised NBA players who look at the refs every time they miss a shot cause they think they were fouled. Kenny's turning into that. It just bugs me.

I'm not trying to offend nobody with any seemingly harsh remarks about KT or his game, just sharing what I've observed. Kenny is a huge part of our offese, so I think he deserves a few thread topics.

I would say that Cuttino is just as erratic, although you make some good points...One thing, though...how did you come up with 93%?

Like I posted in another thread, KT has been for pading his stats lately and that's it. I don't care what anybody says, Kenny's looking out for himself right now, not the Rocket's best interest.

That being said, KT isn't THE reason why the Rockets are bad this year, but his selfish tendency, along with others on the team, have been the death of the Rockets.

I hate to sound like I'm rooting for one player and not the team, but the only reason I'm going to look at the rest of the season is to watch EG develop. The 19 year old can show these so-called vets on the team a thing or two. A guy with his ability could have the same selfish mentality as some of the other players on this team, but I've never really seen him force it or make a stupid play out there. More than I can say for the other players. I know EG has a rocky past but from the looks of it he has really grown and matured. Until EG is the man on this team, this team is going nowhere. I love Steve, but more and more it seems like we need a leader of EG's mentality. Hopefully EG can grow into that role.

For all I know KT may actually have the most sincere of intentions in getting the team wins. He may not even give a rat's a$$ about his own stats. But one thing I know for sure, when he is in the game the offense does not flow smoothly and the ball does not move around nearly as much as when he's on the bench.

You may be right, but I don't recall KT being a blackhole in years past. I really liked KT before this year. But to me it's becoming evident especially with EG's emergence that KT is passing less and less.

I'm not going to pick on only KT for not passing. It's been well chronicled on this board that a number of players on this team don't pass and move the ball that often, now KT has gotten into the act too. It's horrible to watch.

Can't be Cat since the guy basically averages 20 ppg the last few years and puts up big numbers in the 4th qtr. It could be Francis, who practically had double digit turnovers the last few games.

Perhaps he meant inconsistent game to game. That could be Cat or Walt or KT.

I just got finish watching the first half of the Grizzlies/Kings game, and man what is up with Rudy's play book. I watch quite a few games on NBA league pass, and it seems that every other team (but the Rockets) are fun to watch.

    • You dont have to watch ISO's all night, and the other 4 sit around with their hands up the ass!!!!

    • You dont have to watch SEVERAL players play selfish ball, refusing to pass!!! (I think the Kings probably pass the ball 3-5 times on most possessions).

    • You dont consistently watch teams gamble with the shot clock, waiting until the last ticks to make their BONEHEAD move!!

There are alot of problems with the team, and it will be interesting to see if the CD of the past, makes a blockbuster trade before Feb 21. Until then it will be interesting to see how the Rockets will play without KT for a few games, more importantly how EG utililizes KT minutes!!
