You know I wish I could edit the first option to say "Tmac can do no wrong, and he has earned that right" or something like that
I know I'm biased, I admit that, but all I want this dude to do is shut up and play and hard. is that so much to ask?
Just because he's not playing well doesn't mean he's not playing hard. Of course, if he refused to answer reporters' questions, you'd be whining about how he's hiding things from us. You don't like T-Mac. We get it.
yes because I always complain about stuff like that. when mcgrady isn't whining running his mouth I don't complain.
Voted the last option. He hasn't been 100% all year because of his back. This year would be VERY different had he played in all the games at 100%.
That's fine, you have the right to criticize whomever you want. That's what great about this message board. Can I ask a favor, though? Is there any way you would consider changing your user name? Gabriel is one of my all-time favorite artists, and you're making me have negative connotations now any time I listen to Solsbury Hill or Games Without Frontiers or Family Snapshot. Would you at least consider one of the following from groups that I can't stand? Thanks: mmanson sstapp krock 'Preciate it.
Oh, McGrady gets a pass- except for games like NY- he deserves full criticism for that one, as well as the Phoenix game. He should have demanded that Van Gundy put him and Yao back in during the 4th, if only to say to Phoenix, "Even if we're down by 40+, we're not giving up." Sometimes, coaches need to do things like that to make a statement. Van Gundy blew an opportunity.
Wow! Nearly 12% of those voted say "we're done with him", meaning they want him gone...after all but two seasons in Houston. Seriously, sometimes I think this city doesn't deserve the great franchises/players we have when there are some fans with that type of attitude. And people wonder why Houston fans/sports get no respect
I'm with you on that. He's definitely played some bad games lately and deserves some criticism for those, even if he has valid explanations. And yeah right, pgabs...if he refused to answer any questions about it, you'd be all over him for that.
You need to read up on your Clutchfans BBS Rules and Regulations. Rule #17 clearly states that if a player has a few bad games, TRADE HIM.
Hakeem didn't have one until his 10th season. BTW, I would trade T-Mac for the following players: Kobe Wade James I wouldn't be upset with trading him for Duncan. I'd be a little more hesitant to trade him for KG.
For the Rockets? Or overall? Definitely: Duncan (proven champion) LeBron (younger, has more of his career ahead of him) Probably: Kobe (overall: he's just better than McGrady right now, today - for the Rockets: could he share with Yao? Who knows) Garnett (overall: the big knock is no playoff success - but McGrady can't boast that either. I'll take him simply because of size bias - For the Rockets: a twin towers look would be cool) Not sure: Wade (ehh, seems like a shorter T-mac - probably not, though he is younger) AI (tougher than steel nails dipped in diamond dust - but he's getting up there in years. However his productivity remains VERY high. I think AI and Yao would be an itneresting pair.)
Right now it's 6 people out of 68. Big deal I voted for the last option. Not for the personal problems though but because of all the injuries to him and the team. Any other season and I'll probably vote He's the Man and should shoulder some of the blame.
T-mac is the man and the man needs to shoulder some responsibility. Same with JVG and same with Yao. If it wasn't for Tracy's back, I'd be hard-pressed to trade him for ANYBODY in the NBA. His skills and his game are such a sight to behold. A healthy T-mac and Yao will eventually win titles, there's no doubt in my mind. Now here comes the BUT. Unfortunately Tracy's back is a HUGE concern. Chonic injuries to superstars can haunt a team for years (as Grant Hill can tell you). And it would be a sad sight indeed if injuries prevent this duo from going all the way. With that in mind, if Atlanta wins the draft lottery, I would seriously think about offering T-mac for Joe Johnson and the #1 pick.
I gave T-Mac a pass this year. The big things that have gone wrong were out of his control- his injury and Yao's injury.
