Eric Massa, D-NY, is saying some pretty nasty things about Democratic leadership, particularly in regard to coercion over the health care bill. He said Democrats are trying to get rid of him because of his opposition to parts of the proposed bill and reconciliation. Will he have an effect on the leadership? If so, what will that effect be on the health care bill?

You mean the guy who had to resign due to sexual harasment?

Yes, the allegations had an effect.

He is resigning because his cancer has returned, something conveniently ignored here. He can accuse all he wants, but it's not the reason he's given for retiring.

Whether he retires or gets booted out for misconduct is not really the point. I am curious about his newest allegations about Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party and possible coercion. Obama wants the health care bill passed in the next 10 days. I was just wondering about the effect of what he is saying vis a vis the health care bill. Some want the bill passed, some want it shot down. I'm in the camp that wants it re-written from scratch, but I am for health care reform.

How do you think Tom Delay got his reputation as "The Hammer"?

No, it's not a dance move.

Is the punchline something about his supporters being dumber than a box of nails?

I am delighted the leadership is finally exerting the kind of pressure that should have been exerted long ago.

Your point and political intent was obvious.

It's about time Obama and the Dems started playing hardball.

Here is an audio clip of Eric Massa on a radio show sharing a story about Rahm Emanuel coming after Massa in the shower at the House or Representatives gym. Also, he portrays Emanuel as someone who "Would Sell His Own Mother" for Votes.

What a thug. So apparently this is an example of the kind of change that we can believe in, brought to you by the Obama Administration. Not very impressive at all. Obama needs to dump this guy.

Obama sells judgeships for votes, so he and Rahm make an excellent couple.

Obama is a liar and a huge hypocrite. Time and time again he has lied and went back on his own words especially on the whole HEALTH CARE reform. The sooner he is out of office the better.

Also No I am not attacking Obama because he is black or anything he does is bad so dont go there. I am just sick of his political games. Sucks that our two most recent Presidents Bush and Obama both just suck. Can't believe I am saying that Clinton among the last three.

Didn't I just group GW with Obama in my previous post?
I wasn't actively posting when GW was president and yes I do think he made some crappy decisions and yes you can almost find any president going back on their own words.
But Obama is doing it so blatantly it's crazy.

Right after Scott Brown won he said he would never consider using reconcillation and anything as big as health care which will change the country dramatically needs a true majority and not 51 votes. He reconciliation was absolutely off the tables. (there is audio of him recorded saying this) hmm one month later he seems to have changed his tune quite a bit.

I dont recall that, but I would say Obama severely misjudged the recalcitrance of the republicans. I think he naively assumed that the GOP would cooperate given the seriousness of the problem. I'm not terribly surprised that he is having to adjust his strategies to deal with never-ending stall tactics, partisan rancor, and misinformation.

    Meh.

I don't remember anything of the sort. Please try to find the evidence if you don't mind.

    Any other examples of "lies"?

By the way, when my boss tells me our deadline is May, then later says that because of business pressures and other information he wants it done by the middle of April, I don't call him a liar. That term is used way too often when talking about politicians.
