Why do so many people just love to see this guy fail?

    -Best player in the NBA
    -Very fun player to watch
-He has gotten alot better in the 4th quarter
-He has no problems with the law

Honestly for the last 2 years everybody has hated him since The Decision. Yeah he left his team but so are several superstars as of late (Melo, Paul, Deron and Dwight eventually). Ok yeah "The Decision" was a bit of a stupid thing to do, but it did raise over 2 million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club. Is it because he acts like a douche? There are lots of players in the game that act worse than him.

I "hate" him much less now. People hate him because of the decision and because he is the best player of the "superfriends"

Yeah, I agree. He had the right to go somewhere he wanted to play for. That's all.

Claiming 7 future championship rings comes off as kind of arrogant to anyone not in Miami.

I disagree here. Miami is the most boring team in the NBA to watch for me. Wade and Lebron are very boring. Its mostly one on one basketball followed by a foul or layup. And Lebron travels 90% of the time he dribbles. Nothing fun for me there

It sounds strange, but some people hate him partly because of how much they liked him initially. Those who watched his HS games & bought into the hype were disappointed because he did not live up to their expectations of him. And not necessarily in terms of performance on the court, but personality, attitude, maturity, behavior, etc.

I don't hate him. He hasn't mouthed off on anybody. True class act. He left for his own satisfaction. why should I hate him? For all I know Gilbert was a big douche. He's the one that mouthed off.

    No Kidding

    His Tweet:
"DWade back in "game on a string" mode. Orchestrated for while, let LeBron get his, role players theirs, then DWade put on little show"

It's simply childish for people to hate him. The Decision wasn't the smartest thing to do, but he raised money for charity and decided to go play where he felt comfortable and happy. Isn't that what every free agent does? Throw in the fact that he's one of the best players in the league, rarely talks about himself, and has literally zero off the court issues with the law, and you have a player that doesn't deserve anywhere NEAR the hatred he receives.

Personally don't hate him. And I don't see that much hate for him.

I see some mild criticism, and I shrug my shoulders. Why that gets called "hate" is kind of confusing.

He's the most talented player, by far, in the league. Agree with rhino17 that the Heat aren't very fun to watch. And Lebron has never been very fun to watch for me personally. He's not smooth and artistic, but rather faster and stronger than everyone else on the planet. But I don't hate him. I think he deserved his MVP this year, and if he can string together some clutch performances, that will be a new kind of impressive for him.

Pretty much no reason to, just like there is no reason to hate on anyone not named Bruce Bowen and anyone with a history of actually hurting other players.

But there is a difference between hating and cheering against. I don't hate LeBron, but I love watching his team fail...Overall I just don't like LeBron because he's too obsessed with his public image. That whole "not one, not two, not three" fiasco was more of him catering to the fans than him actually believing he'll win that many championships.

Great player, needs grow some balls

OP, where have you been? This thread is several years old. The LerBon hate started way before the decision. And in case you haven't notice, Wade has overtaken LerBon in the hate department.

I probably hate him less now. I just hated how people automatically assumed he'd become somewhere in stratosphere of MJ. Now that that has passed and he no longer can be GOAT, I don't have much hate for him. He teamed up with Wade, but I'm starting to understand that he just wants to win badly. That's fine. That's what basketball is all about. I can't root for the Heat though because I hate Miami as a city (nothing to do with LeBron, I've always hated that overrated city for everything including sports).

Why does this question continue to be asked?

Firstly, this is years in the making and it's been cited ad nauseum why people don't like him. And don't bother trying to talk them out of it. I happen to agree with 'them'. :)

The circus that was the decision.
And the actual act of forming a super team. Doesn't seem to have heart as great as he is. Magic, Bird and Dr. J should've formed a team and made a huge ordeal out of the whole thing.

Just because someone has the 'right' to do something doesn't mean they shouldn't expect a backlash.

The Heat's welcoming party for Bosh and James was a 'right', but that ain't going to stop me for holding it against them.
