    Comfort Zone

I don't know about you guys, but I am having a hard time concentrating on things knowing that my other beloved team, the Astros, has a shot to make the World Series in less that 24 hrs from now. I have two midterms tommorow, considering I am a senior in my last semester of college, and the 'Stros have put me behind in school. Anyone else experiencing the same things? If so, this is the place to channel all excitement that may be getting us off track in our daily deeds.

Oh hell yeah. I'm way behind in everything I want to get done. Watching 4 hours of baseball coverage every other day and spending another few hours surfing baseball message boards is horrible for productivity.

Mos def... I got a Chemistry in Context test tommorrow @ 3 so I'm going to miss the first pitch. Hopefully I can race through the test and make it home in a reasonable amount of time.

Today has been okay, but since I am working nights this week, I get absolutely no work done on days when the Stros play. Yesterday I was lazy as hell and just celebrated online my whole shift. Tomorrow will hopefully be much of the same.

Working nights has it's advantages. The bosses aren't there. As long as they don't ask what you did last night, I'm fine. "Uh...er...hum...well let's see now!" probably isn't the answer they're looking for there. :D

I've been multi-tasking by watching the games while working out on the elliptical trainer at the gym.

I think that was the yuppiest sentence ever.

The Rockets' 1994-95 run was soooooooooooo painful. I was in first year of law school and we were facing finals that basically determine your worth as a human being for the rest of your legal career.

My boss picked the perfect day to have a manager's meeting in Houston (me being in College Station), and hopefully it lasts all day cause I brought a little 6 inch tv with me to work today :)

I heard on KTRH on my way to work today that Mayor White has "gently suggested" that employers shut down a little early today for the game.

In response, my manager rescheduled a 10:30 AM meeting for 3:00 PM today. Two of my co-workers said they would walk out if the first 10 minutes of the meeting were the mind-numbing managerial gibberish that is standard operating procedure here.

ROCKETMAN TEX's BOSS: So you should ask yourself, with every decision that you make (points to the banner) Is this good for the company? Am I helping...

Uh, I’d like to, uh, welcome a new member to our team. Uh, Bob Slydell. Yeah. Uh, he is, uh, a consultant. Yeah. He is a consultant. He’ll be helping us out a little here, asking some questions, making sure things go a little more smoothly. Yeah. Oh and remember, next Friday is Astros shirt day! So, y’know, if you want to, go ahead and uh, wear an Astros shirt.

    So Who's Leaving Work Early?

Anyone else planning on ducking out early this afternoon? I don't have any meetings after 3PM, so I can afford to slip away today. I figure I'll head out about 3:45P, and be home by 4 to catch the top of the 3rd. I can always do email from my living room while the game is on.

I wish I could leave early. I'm on-call for the next week though, which means I have to pickup any hot issues. With my luck a server will bite the dust right at around 3:15 and I'd be screwed. Oh well, I'll be listening to Milo and Ash.
