Kelvin gives his annual, "I will change" speech.

Can the BBS have finally gotten to him? Hmmm.... :D

Wow, that's strange. Sounds like Cato got those quotes verbatim from the BBS!

<b>"I'm not going to be limited," Cato said. "I am going to give 110 percent this year.</b>

Gawd...we need to get rid of him simply for using tired cliches...:)

One thing is for sure. There'll be no more room for excuses after this year. It's time to put up or shut up. My money's on shut up & pout.

He did leave room for one excuse though, when he stated that he was only at 90%. If he's truely going to committ himself to being consistent, then why even mention the 90%? I believe that he's going to be the same old Cato & I base this opinion on what he reportedly didn't do this off season. He didn't play in any of the summer leagues that the coaches wanted him to attend & he didn't even go to the big man's camp that he said he wanted to go to. Hopefully, he hired a private trainer, that we haven't heard about, to help him work on his game.

On a more positive (albeit, sarcastic) note, he does seem to be learning his limitations. At least he didn't state that he'd lead the league in rebounds this time.

    He's already making excuses

"Truthfully, I'm about 90 percent. I still have a little pain in my (left) ankle every now and then," Cato said.

What a cry baby. Does anyone have last year's I'll do better speech to see which one is more pathetic. I think last year's still takes the cake because of his guarantee to win the rebounding title.

    I have pain in both my ankles every day......gimme 42 mil. I won't b****, I promise.

The preseason pool is on. I say Cato gets injured in the 2nd game of the preseason, and is out 6-8 to start.

Another topic that he talked about on Fox news that's not in the article is about him being frustrated and mad at the fact that Rudy T was overlooking him on the bench. Cato said that Keith Jones would help him keep his spirits up and stay positive. My question to Cato is, if you were on the court playing effectively why should Rudy even have to look for you on the bench?

What a crock! Hey Kelvin...why dont you explain why you havent given 110% all the time? Why have you been "limited" ? They ought to cut him just for the principle of the matter. Here he has practically admitted he hasnt been committed to playing his best all the time, and now we are to trust that this will be the year that he is? I find that really hard to believe...maybe if this was the last season on his contract...but not now.

    PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!

I can't believe that article is newsworthy enough to have made ESPN. What a freakin' joke. I sure hope we can get MarC.

I kinda agree with rollinrockets. We should just cut Cato like we did with Maloney. I know it's a waste of money but he is doing nothing to help the team. In fact he is probably hindering the team with his poor attitude.

    I mean ... he's had a triple double in a preseason game ... that's not nothing! :D

(In moments like these, I just have to pretend I am on the side of Mrs. Cato and Cato's Mom :D , looking for excuses for Cato! This will intensify our discussion on this lazy ass CaTOFU)

So basically what he's saying is that it took a season plus the summer to heal himself to 90%? That is pitiful for any professional athlete. It's not like he didn't have enough time to sit around and ice it while playing PS2 while he made his player lead the league in blocks, boards, and fouls. :)

he'll have a great camp so he secure the starting spot at center, then he'll settle into mediocrity at the spot.

I hop that Collier rings his bell more than once in camp. The best thing for the Rockets (and us) is that there becomes this great competition between the two of them so Cato can't let up on his effort.
