And if anything it proves the point: We need a point guard.

Do you think the Rockets will shoot .548 every game? Do you think Mobley will ever have 10 assists again?

Didn't you hear the announcers, they were in awe that Steve was playing under "control." Know why? Because he doesn't play like that every game, he doesn't pass, he doesn't make good shot selection, and he doesn't make 9 of 11 shots ever. This game is proof of what the Rockets could be with a point guard who played in "control," instead of running around, doing his own thing, as Steve is prone to do. Did he have a good game? Of course. But does this change anything? I don't see how.
Some of you might claim the tide has turned (Since Tuesday?) and that Francis is now ready for his role. Last year he scored, what, 44 against LA, did that show any changes, or did it just show that Steve typically has good "big" games, which we all knew?

Kobe was obviously not himself, Medvendenko's awesome 1 of 13 night is a far cry from what Karl Malone brings. We had the best game of our entire year, and we beat a badly injured Lakers team. It was what it was.

If we want to see more games like this, then we need to make a move, bring in someone willing to play under "control" with more consistency. If we want to see more games like most of the first half of the season, we can stand pat.

if this team makes the playoffs, then it's all good to me. In the playoffs, every game will be a big game so maybe we might play like we did tonight EVERY game of the playoffs ;)

Steve always does this. He has a good game every once in a while to get our hopes up, then proceeds to immediately have a crappy game. I'd bet money that he goes 2-12 with seven TO's in his next game...It's pretty obvious now that the Lakers are Steve's "b****" team, like Glen Rice or Hornacek used to always go off on us...Too bad we only play the Lakers four times per year, though...

if i walked away knowing anything after this game, it's that the rockets will probably play like **** come the 17th.

anyone thinkng the rockets have turned it around after one game - again - should get their head examined.

although stopming the lakers always feels good.

Random is right, we have to be realistic. After they beat Indiana on the road we were all excited, and the Rockets promptly lost 4 in a row.

We know the Rockets can beat good teams on a given night, the question is whether they can maintain the higher level of play.

Who are the real Rockets? What we saw yesterday, or what we saw against the Spurs?

I agree! The key to all this is the same intensity that was played against the Lakers and a totally different Francis whos was incredibly dominant.

I agree wholeheartedly. Plus, this was the lakers 7th game. They were ripe for the taking. Rockets do well against slow teams with no power forward that single cover Yao.

Time to capitalize on some trade value.

Hey, it's good to be realistic, but let us be happy for one day at least...

The only way I'll be happy is seeing that little "x" next to Houston in the standings...

    Agreed.
Steve shot 80% and Cat had 10 assists. This game is an anomily compared to the rest of the season. The Lakers were tired as hell after their long road trip...I'm sure Shaq is going to remember this game when we have to go to LA. :(

This thread proves that fairweather fans are never happy - they're just "Random" with what hate thread they're gonna start this week.

Did you hear Fastbreak after the game? Greg Anthony was talking about how no one is going to want to play Houston come playoff time. So true.

That was a great win!! Our main 3 came up big. Free BigMacs too. :)

Yeah, right...I'm sure that San Antonio, Sacramento, Minnesota, and Dallas, who've lost a whole one game against us this season, are quaking in their sneakers...
