Is he putting the Texans players in the position to be successful? What could he do differently? sure he probably knows more about football than all of use combined but I would like to see him try some things differently. Some hurry up offense sometimes. . . just to change the pace. I felt like he cost the Texans 2~3 games last year with just bad decisions. [wrong personel, bad play calling, not having the team 'ready'] I expected him to correct this. . this year. Rocket River
I think he's a glorified offensive coordinator. I don't think he gets the team motivated enough to win big ball games. We need to be more physical, and he just doesn't want to go that rout.
All I know is that his speech, the speech that got the kids to battle the last four games of last season.. he better break it out before the chiefs game. It's now or never.
If we lose to the Cheifs at home, then go to Indy, which should be a loss, and then are 3-4, then the season is pretty much done.
It's concerning how dominated they were in just about every area. One team looked like they came in prepared, had studied during the week, knew what was going to be run and how to stop it, and was able to make adjustments during the game. That team obviously wasn't the Texans.
If the Texans make the playoffs, awesome, but Kubiak will presumably be fired if they don't. I'm happy either way. Unless the Texans miss the playoffs, and Uncle Bob doesn't fire Kubiak. If that happens, I'm just going to tune out the NFL until the Texans get a new owner.
Not a Kubiak fan, never have been. Nice guy, not really head coach material and that is just an opinion. Since he has been here, the team just doesn't seem to have that high level competitive edge. Granted, they aren't top tier talent wise, but they are good enough to be much more competitive. SOFT is a term that keeps coming to mind. You have to have your home games. You have to be extremely competitive in your home games even if you do lose. You can not ever get pushed around on your home field even if you have to restort to, well, getting ugly. Attitude is a huge part of any game and that is largely coaching.
Texan Opponents played: 12-12 (0.500) 3-2 record, with 3 games at home, 2 road Upcoming Opponents: 25-17 (0.595) 5 games at home, 6 on the road, including a short week before going to Philly for a Thursday night. But hey, it's just (another) one game that we pissed away at home! Who cares! We're awesome! We're staring 7-9 down if we continue playing like this. It's why I refused to drink the kool aid in the summer. As long as Kubiak keeps these guys playing with practice field intensity, we're going to get results like this. Some of you could stand to get upset and hold people accountable, instead of sweeping everything under the rug with double-blinded love.
Kubes and Rick Smith are the only thing holding this team back IMO. Thanks for Mario, Ryans, Matt and Cush but after that I think we need some real architects. Someone get Bill Cowher on the line.
Those kind of architects like to tear things down and start from scratch leaving only the foundation bearing pieces if that... that's the scary part. 2-year process at best IMO for someone like Cowher who would need to remold the defense.
I think Rick gets tied to the hip of Kubes a bit too much. He has put some talent on the field. I guess I say that because. . I maybe overrating the team's Talent. I think this team is playing under its potential Rocket River
This gets repeated over and over but there's absolutely no evidence that it's true. Coaches take over all the time for other coaches and immediately improve the team. As far as remolding the defense - who cares? The defense sucks right now.
Lets blame mcnair. He didn't want to pay dr fine at least get someone else. We needed help on the dline, with no cap instead of getting peppers and shoble we get antonio smith. awe should be going all in. The vikings got moss for 3rd rounder. Marshall faulk went for like 2nd rounder. Go get haynsworth. Its time to go all in.
Def. concerned for the Texans right now. Schaub has played inconsistently imo; guy needs to be more of a gem moving forward (like in the Redskins game), and less of a turd.
When I learned that Kubiak doesn't have the balls to watch FGs, I knew this team would never be physical or have a real edge.
