    Need to figure draft position, not playoff seed (in two different conferences), to get an accurate comparison.

    Not really, that pick still has value to all the teams that rank above the NY knicks in the standings.

    Looking at the Knicks rankings it looks like the pick might be late lottery. The rockets could use that pick to trade (if they do end up having a worse year that the Knicks) for a young player on a team that ranks above the knicks..

    The only way that pick becomes absolutely worthless is if the knicks walk away with the best record at the end of the season, and I don't see that happening.. :cool:

    Just make graph of distribution of expected draft position exchange once both teams hit lotto hand.
