I actually liked Knicks game in the 90s. They were fun to watch. I remember growing up watching Spree dunking on people and Houston drains 3s after 3s. I am not from NY but that team was something special to me. Just felt like sharing it lol.
I think the lineup was like
    Harper
    Houston
    Spree
    Oakley (or Johnson, can't remember)
    Ewing

You could say the same thing in vice versa about 1994 Knicks versus the Bulls.

    1994 squad (looked like this)

    Ewing
    Oakley
    Mason/Smith
    Starks
    Harper/Rivers

    1997-98 squad
    Ewing
Oakley (replaced by Camby the next year)
Johnson (moved up to power forward the next year)
Houston (moved up to small forward the next year and Sprewell took over at shooting guard)
    Ward/Childs

If New York put that team together alot sooner, they may have been able to beat the Bulls in a series.

No. You cant let a gummy bear like Charles Smith decide your fate. The guy had a reputation for being soft. He was not going to get those calls.

I only respected their power forwards. Mason/Oakley were just mean. Ewing was a jump shooting vagina, Starks was a vagina during big games and Harper looked too much like Louis Gossett Jr. in Enemy Mine.

I have more respect for the 90s Sonics. Real talk.

They were thugs. They did not have enough scoring options so they would slow the games down and physically beat up their opponents. Oakley, Mason, and Bonner on the inside and Starks and Harper on the outside. Charles Smith and Greg Anthony were wannabe thugs.

Houston and Spree came later and the team was a little more tolerable by then.

They were NOT fun to watch. I would rather watch the last 30 minutes of the Lords of the Ring Trilogy, and it pains me to say it.

I'm fairly confident that you are the only person on the Planet who enjoyed watching those teams play.

Their 99 team is the one I liked. Disliked the Spurs back then, felt they cheated to get Duncan, felt Robinson stole Dream's MVP in 95 - wanted JVG to pulloff the miracle. Ewing was out. Have no clue how they won. Came out from the 8th spot (a part of me didn't want them to break Houston's record as 6th seed title winner). But yeah, shortened season, in the end nothing counted. Real weird year. They had Olajuwon/Barkley/Pippen playing 3 games in 3 nights for Christ's sake.
