Hmmm it won't let me edit my post. Anyways try this link, I got things backwards the first time. KG versus Peeler
Ouch! Thanks for that...didn't Peeler play for the Wolves before? There must be some history behind this...
NBA players really like throwin bows... Remember the Kobe-Childs fight? Peeler pulled the same forearm "punch" that Kobe tried to pull on Childs...but Peeler's shot landed.
I wouldn't be endangering my shooting hand or dribbling hands if I was these guys either. You can break your hand on a guy's face or head really easily. Elbows are the way to go - just ask Karla Malone.
Kenny Smith on TNT said Peeler thought it was Szcerbiak on the first hit. KG rotated really fast and caught an elbow intended for Wally. On the other end KG just hit him with an elbow to let him know he was there and it was on. Sounds plausible enough.
I also heard that part where Kenny said Peeler thought it was Sirbiatch that he was getting. I highly doubt that. Looks like Peeler saw KG from the corner of his eye and decided he was going for any Wolf he saw. It'll suck if KG is suspended. I dont think he did anything that bad. Peeler started with the blow to the stomach, KG retaliated, but Peeler went for the head.
Peeler should be suspended, period. Whether those elbows to the mid section is questionable. But Peeler tried to knock out KG with that elbow on his chin.
I think Peeler definitely did more damage of the two--and like Chris Webber said, you know they're not going to suspend Garnett for the next game. Interesting if this fires up either team...
I can understand KG retaliating, but Peeler was an idiot and he's out...I'm glad the MVP didn't return the favor...Kings win game 7
Props to Peeler. No doubt he will get the stiffer penalty, but good for him. He stepped it up. I wish Boki would have done that to Malone, that c*cks*cking beeyatch.
There is no way KG will be suspended regardless of MVP status, 1) the blow was before the wistle, and 2) it was in Peeler's chest. Peeler's blow was after the wistle and aimed at KG's head. Either neither is suspended or just Peeler. I think you can make a good case for either--it is all based on whether they interpret Peeler's shot as a purposefull blow to the head, it looked that way to me, but it wasn't like he cold cocked KG in the face either. I sure Peeler and the Kings will say he was just swinging his elbow in retailiation and happened to land on KG's noggin because of the height difference. I wouldn't buy it, but like I said it is not the most clear cut case. Regardless I expect the Wolves to win, but if Sac can hang within single digits by the start of the 4th it is anyone's game.
I didn't analyze the video, but didn't Peeler clock him? It appeared that way. And if true, I'd suspend Peeler. That's when it became a fight in my eyes and Garnett did not retaliate. Peeler should have kept his cool and retaliated during the game like Nachbar.
"I'm surprised that it was a little dirty," Garnett said. "I played with him a couple years, so I know what kind of player he is. It was surprising, but I wasn't going to let anybody just hit me. Never have, never will." seems to me you DID let him hit you KG..
KG been causing a lot of trouble lately, I guess he is feeling invincible after receiving the MVP trophy. That elbow really wasn't too bad anyway.
He's referring to the first blow under the hoop, before this video footage linked here... as in, that's why he "checked him" with the elbow that got the bigger response from Peeler, and ultimately a suspension. 'Sota wins.
