As Rockets fans, we've been here before. 1986. 1993. 1994. 1995. 1997. 2002. Fantastic turnarounds. Sure things transformed into sudden doubt. Insurmountable odds overcome. We just haven't had a team like the 1986 Celtics, 1996 Bulls, 1999 Spurs, or even 2001 Lakers. Our team just doesn't seem to know how to win it all without facing significant adversity. A Houston Rocket fan is a unique creature- unlike some teams who haven't reached the pinnacle (Cavaliers) and others who seem a sure bet to get there every 10 years or so (Lakers), the Rockets seem incapable of taking their fans on anything but the wildest of rides towards their ultimate goal. And here we are again. Aging, injured, slow, unsure, confused, disjointed, self-conscious- and at the worst possible time of the year. Even though Minnesota should be far back enough, and Memphis has a tough schedule, and Denver just can't keep winning at their pace, why does it feel like we're the ones who are going to miss the cut? Because, over the past 6 years, we've been used to looking in from the outside more than the other way around. So, I'm starting a good karma thread. With the way the Rockets are, who knows what might help to get them in and prosper in the postseason? And I'm putting my money where my mouth is: $10 goes to the tip jar today, and if the Rockets make the playoffs, I'll double that. Doesn't sound like much, but every little bit helps. So, I encourage everyone to contribute and keep the playoff hope alive- for now. Once we make the playoffs, we'll be ready to make some noise.
Well, I just contributed $30 in the tipjar last week. Does that count for good karma? Tell you what...when they make it to the playoffs, I'll add another $10 and another $20, $30, etc. for each round they advance to after that. I'm a flat-out broke grad school student, so you'll have to excuse the measly portions I'm donating.
you cheapscape no just kidding that's some generous stuff, I'm a college student and i have absolutley zero money. I don't even have a credit card. Yes.
