If Harden wants to play on Saturday (GSW), then at a very minimum, rest him the following Monday (MIA). Let him play Wednesday (DAL) and then rest him again on Friday (NOR).

In the games that he plays, he ought to only play 25-30 minutes.

 

It's tricky. Because we sure could use Harden against Minnesota and Golden State this week, but we could do alright without him for the remaining games in January(MIA, @DAL, @NOP, PHX, ORL). Not sure if you sacrifice those 2 games, hope to win the others, and in effect buy him a month of rest.

No, it wouldn't. It would look like they're protecting their star player. CP3 likely didn't need to sit out for over a month after his preseason knee injury, but they kept him out just to be safe. Granted, had the team not been 10-4 in his absence, maybe he comes back sooner. But better to err on the side of caution.

 

Rockets so concern with having homecourt against GSW, but I don't think we have a chance to catch GSW for the first seed. Rest Harden for another week, we're pretty much going to be locked in for the 2nd seed unless something crazy

 

The stat they referenced at the end is so telling of how ridiculous the Rockets can be when FULLY healthy...15-0 this season when Paul, Harden, and Capela ALL 3 play.
