Those of that remember the day we traded Ralph for Joe Barely Cares Carroll of the Golden State Warriors. Dude looked like he sleeped walked the entire game and we finally ran him out of Houston. It looks as if we need to run the following dudes out of Htown * TMAC is number one, dude could care less if the we win or lose. He acts as if he's getting props for playing hurt when he actually hurts us more with his lack of defense and offense. * Mike James - dude sits on the bench with no enthusiasm for no one else, then comes in the game and starts jacking up jumpers as if his contracts pays him by the number of shots. * Deke - he's just holding a roster spot for some big man that deserves a run with the rockets * Steve - He skipped out tonight because Rick put him on the inactive list, which he deserves. I wanted him to succeed bad, however, dude has 2 flat tires and not enough IQ to be successful below the rim. I think Maclady hates this dude getting love from the Rowdies and the rest of Houston. What can we get for these bums and start over as a lotto team.
Deke always cheers for the team. He's just old, so he doesn't get pt unless there is the right matchup, but I look at him like the modern day Charles Jones.
Its easy for people to blame the coaches, but this thread is good cause the real problem for us is the players. there is a lack of leadership here. If you guys read any of my old chronicle reposts. The old Rockets cared about winning and showed leadership and closeness. a couple good examples: when Sam Cassell came back to play the Rockets as a Buck, he slept at 7pm the night before and came out like 2 hours before game time to just to practice cause he knew that he was playing Steve Francis and he wanted to prove something, that he was better. Of course, Sam dropped like 35 points that night. when the Rockets were labeled Choke City, Mario Elie wrote "Choke City" on his sneakers for motivation. when Horry came back to the Rockets after the failed trade. He was traded because he was hesitant to shoot. After that, he said he never wanted to be known as a hesitant player again, thus was the birth of Big Shot Rob. Hakeem when they gave David Robinson the MVP trophie. At some point, the players need to motivate themselves with just pride and they must be willing to be a leader.
Joe Barley Cared - he made a FINE vienna-style amber lager. EDIT, oh man if i ever open a up a microbrewery I am using that name for a brew.
This team sure has plenty of candidates for that kind of label, which is simply one of the reasons why the team had four players score in a playoff game. Is it possible to say it's the main reason? I feel that this team resembles that Rocket team we saw have four players score in that one playoff game last postseason pretty much, and it wouldn't surprise me if this current Rocket team winds up having four or less players score in a game later on this season.
Baloney. It's true that the Rockets lack leadership among the players, but the much larger problem is the lack of leadership from the head coach. I am stupefied why 100% of people here don't see that. Our roster does have problems but Adelman was a dead wrong choice as JVG's replacement.
I actually think they bring in Deke as a locker room guy, just an insurance for Yao. And the Rockets want to give Deke a role in the organization after he retires because of his personality.
He didnt say Deke didn't care he said hes too old and his spot should go to someone else who can contribute. Mike James sure looks like he doesn't give a crap. Huge cancer. Steve, im not too sure, he will cheer at times and be a good citizen and other times he'll just pout like a lil girl.
Adelman is the only proven winner on the entire Rocket team. Yeah, let's blame the guy that has a consistent track record of success, instead of the losers who make up the entire team, from the supposed "team leaders" all the way down to the 15th man (excepting Mutombo and James).
During the pregame show, they said Steve would be out because he is sick. He didn't just skip the game.
Yep, he has the flu. He's also missing the Denver game. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5392673.html
Brandon Roy had the flu also. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=271219022 Roy nearly has triple-double as Blazers knock off Raptors PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Brandon Roy wasn't going to let a bout with the flu mess with the streak. Roy was ailing, but didn't play like it. He had 25 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to their ninth straight win -- a 101-96 victory over the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night. "I was hurting a little bit, but we're doing something special right now so I didn't want that to get in the way," Roy said.
Its a little disappointing to see steve miss two games because of the flu but at least brooks got to play. tracy, I don't know what's up with him
Another reason to hate JVG......that moron played his starters in a meaningless game against Denver to get a meaningless win which cost us Brandon Roy. ARRRRRRGHHHHHH !!! DD
