I don't know if anyone in the organization reads the BBS, but just in case... I feel we need a fan thread for those who will stand with Van Gundy 100%- here is mine #1 stand behind you take: 1. Coach when you came here I didn't like your NY 'arrogance', but since then you have slowly won me over. Now I want you to know you are MY coach of My Rockets. I am behind you 100% and I believe you are honest and you have guts and integrity. I want to thank you for standing up for our team and I am 100% behind you. You are the man JVG and we are behind you all the way.
I hated it when you brought over all those former knicks and turned our offense into the New York Rockets. But its all making sense that those scrub knicks were just over to provide leadership. And then theres DEKE. Gotta love what youve done with our rockets.
He paid the ultimate sacrifice. And it's a good thing because no matter the consequence, he stood up for his player and this type of loyalty goes a long way. If he had to make an outrageous statement to draw attention, then so be it. Was it a coincedence that Yao did not pick up a single foul in the 4th quarter? Do we have any doubt that Yao will sign a long-term deal with Houston? There is no way David Stern will ban Van Gundy. Stern is too much of Wizard of Oz - power behind the scenes to get into a public debate. PR for the league and himself will be severely tainted. Van Gundy may get suspended for a few games but who cares. Bottom line is Van Gundy did what he had to protect his player - and that's always the sign of a good coach.
I will add this. I also now believe there is no better coach on the planet for Yao and TMac. If Yao resigns we will have our revenge and coach will make sure it happens.

One thing that this team was lacking from the Hakeem and Rudy days was that tight family atmosphere. JVG was willing to put his ass on the line for his players and has gained my full respect. I wouldn't want anybody else in the world coaching this team besides Jeff Van Gundy.
