This movie was absolutely awesome. its honest, fresh, well acted, suspenseful, and very well done. great acting by pacino and russell crowe. wow. im only 16 and i thought it was terrific. it shows how greedy, corrupt, and untruthful tobacco companies really are. it is a truly good movie. russell crowe delivers an honest, magnificent performence. he really seems like an everday guy. its a well done movie. every1 should see it.

    TeXaSalsa,

You are so right! This was an excellent movie. I'm also a little biased, one of my best friends is the son of the lawyer that wrote the brief against the tobacco companies in Washington for the government. He told me some really scary stories when this was all going down. His family being watched and stalked. Strange phone calls and messages. Just very weird. My friend told me all kinds of stories about how his father and Russell Crow's character became friends and what the tobacco companies did to scare their families.

So as you can see, the movie was a little different for me to watch knowing that a lot of that stuff was not "just a movie".

Clutch -- Pacino being in the movie, as well as great reviews, was what made me want to see it. Good to know what pushed you over the edge was testimony from TeXaSalsa and mc mark. [IMG]

I seriously did not want to see this movie. I saw the trailers so many times, I just didn't want to see it.

However, I rented it, and it was an excellent movie.

TheFreak -- I'm disappointed.... you slammed me, but it took you two smart-ass sentences to do it [IMG]

Actually I must have been out of the loop -- didn't follow the reviews on it. I just remember the trailers and I never got to see it so forgot about it. Also, I loved Russell Crowe in LA Confidential then saw him in Gladiator so made me want to see this movie more. I guess instead of "intrigued me" should have said "reminded me" .... anyway, I scooped it up at the local video joint and going to watch it later on.

Russel Crowe is bound for greatness. What an actor...

Damn. I can't wait for Gladiator to come out on DVD. I think it has been the best movie of the year so far.

Austinites, speaking of Russell Crowe, his band is playing three straight Thursdays at Stubbs. Unfortunately, they sold out in hours as people from across the globe got tickets to come see him and his band.

I'm not sure when it is, or what the name of his band is, I just heard this last week sometime.

    R95 --

Crowe is the new bass player for Warrant. They're the ones playing at Stubb's. You should see him in makeup!
