    DALEMBERT

I love this kid so much, his blocking ,rebounding, agressiveness, second chance stuffing, will greatly cover Yao 's weakness, I mean his potential is also high ,he will breakout one day ,of course not like those allstars be excellent in every catergory of status sheet, but he will be a main piece for huston to become a real contender, try to grasp the oppotunity to get him from 76ers before his breaking out . He is so fit for yao ,he do not need the ball to be effective.

that's my observation, and your opinion is imperatively needed.

    thanks.

    1) Dalembert is a C, not PF.

    2) Dalembert is not exceptionally quick.

    3) Dalembert has almost zero outside shooting.

The one thing he can do is rebound and blocked shots. But overall, he is far from the ideal PF for Yao and probably not even as good as Cato.

The ideal PF will have the ability to rebound and bang down low, first and foremost and then have the ability to consistantly knock down a 15 footer.

he's quicker than Cato and can jump.

basically he'd be great for 25-30 minutes a game, but then you also have to have someone like Radmanovic or Okur.

Then you also need to have like a matt harpring or someone instead of Jim Jackson.

furthermore... it's not like Howard and MoT have been hitting too many outside J's lately, so I'm pretty sure Dalembert would be an upgrade.

To be fair, he's a guy you can list as a C/F.

I think he's still a bit green, and he hasn't progressed since last year. He's a pretty good young big, but he wouldn't be a savior.

I would take him over any of the 4 PF on our roster.

    Nuff said.

Right now he’s pretty much the only up-and-coming player the Sixers have so it’s going to take a hefty price to pry him away.

Why always searching for someone to fit Yao?

What does Yao did to make his teammates better??

EVERYONE of the ex-Rockets are doing better after left Houston!

T-mac must be very jealous of Wade down in Miami now...

Rasheed Wallace is the ideal PF for Yao.

Why don't we just trade Howard and MoT for Amare? It's like a 2 for 1 sale! :)

In the hopes that with the right players surronding him that he will assplode into a 27 and 15 monster, I personally can't wait; I mean we all see that it's the players around him that is stopping this transition and just as soon as we get those players, well then man the league better watch out cuz it's gonna be Yaomainia spread across the nation, it's gonna be great, free eggrolls for all, beyatches!!!1

/understands Yao is what he is and that his teammates are pretty much crap (and for my own satisfaction I will add) too

the ideal PF for yao is a good:

    1. rebounder

    2. shot blocker

    3. jump shooter

    4. defender

it would be nice if he could guard centers sometimes, but also has to be quick enough to guard the odoms and gasols of the NBA.

if healthy raef lafrentz is the ideal guy. he can shoot the 3, block a few shots a game and pull about 7 rebounds. he can play and defend both 4 and 5.

donyell marshall is probably the ideal guy if you bring health into the mix. he is averaging 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. he gets a block and a slteal in that time aswell. he is quick enough to play the 3 so guarding quick PF's isn't a problem. he is also tough enough to guard some 5's. he also shoots about 40% from down town.

kurt thomas would be close to ideal. he just isnt a very good shot blocker. he does meet the rebounding, defending, and shooting requirements though.

PJ brown is ideal, but because of age i would rather get the other guys first.

Can we trade Mo + another PF to New Orleans for Chris Anderson + another player?

Chris Anderson is a pretty good rebounder and shot blocker although not as strong as Dalembert... IMO Philly won't give up Dalembert so easily...

Because we can't get someone that needs Yao to fit him. :p

What do you want Yao to do to make his teammates better other than drawing double teams on offense and covering their backs on defense? Teach them how to shoot open Js? How to not let their men blow by them?

So you think Yao made them worse? Funny how your ex-Rockets couldn't make the playoffs before Yao's arrival.

Who else in the league don't wanna play with Shaq except Kobe?

You can list him as a F, if your C is a high post who is quick.

With Yao, Dalembert would be relegated to the high post on most posessions, thus somewhat negating his strengths as a player.

Ive seen him play several times and I would say that Cato is actually quicker than he his.

The reason why they want to play with Shaq? Shaq will make them better!!

The reason T-mac wanted to play with Yao? He THOUGHT Yao would make him shine even brighter

Guys need to make wide open shots, period. Otherwise it dosen't matter if
it's Shaq or Yao in the middle. Yao does draw double- or even triple- team.

We did a poor job surrounding Tmac and Yao with complimentary role players.
Also, Tmac would be stupid to think teams wouldn't double-team him. When role
players can't hit a wide open shot to save their lives, opponents can afford to
    double both him and Yao.

An ideal PF for Yao would have to be able to hit the 15foot jumper AND be a strong, tough rebounder.

Someone like Kurt Thomas, PJ Brown, Marcus Camby, Theo Ratliff, or Brad Miller.

    Stuart

    edited: forgot Kurt Thomas... :)

Let me just say on thing about Yao supposedly making his teammates better and creating wide open shots for his teammates.

I think the common misconception is that teams double Yao because they NEED to, which is not necessarily the truth. A lot teams that double Yao don’t need to. You can single cover Yao and not risk him going of for more than 20 points. Teams double team Yao because they can AFFORD to. There’s a difference.

Yao is not creating all of these open shots for his teammates. His teammates are creating these open shots for themselves by being such bad shooters. For example: if Yao passes the ball out to a wide open Kelvin Cato 18 feet away from the basket. Did Yao create that open shot for Cato? Hell no. Cato can get that shot any time he wants, with or without Yao. It’s the same thing with Sura, Taylor, Howard, Ward, etc. These guys can get wide open 3 pointers any time they want even without Yao on the floor.
