I don't know, but it's a kick ass site. I love the layout of the galleries.

Any of you HTML experts have any idea how much effort went into a site like this?

Actually, I saw this site a couple of years ago when I was in Portland, OR. I believe the people who make it are out of the same city. If you look, a lot of the photos come out of there.

Yes, the dude who runs the site is from Portland. I've been reading the "about" section...pretty interesting.

I sent an email to the guy asking him how he did the layout for his galleries. His response pretty much went over my head:

It was the result of about two weeks of having no work to do, so I made
work for myself. The duct tape is scanned, then I wrote a bunch of code
which picks a random "frame" and slaps to two images together and writes
out a new jpeg. Same with the masking tape...I scanned a bunch of pieces
of tape, then wrote a perl script to take scans of my handwriting and make
words onto the masking tape. I miss those days..

Ok what i think he did was take a bunch of images that had areas where he inserted masking tape. Then he scanned his handwriting into seperate images. He wrote a script that takes his handwriting and merges it onto the masking tape in the photos to show the time. I would assume it works similarly to that website that had the picture of the marine and iraqi kids where you could type in things in and it would show up on the sign.

I went through the gallery and I didn't see any writing on the images with the masking tape.

Yeah, I think he meant on the bottom of each picture.

Okay, I can write what I know about PC's and the Internet and how it all works on the back of a matchbook cover with a crayon.

Thus, I couldn't begin to tell you what a "webserver" is or does, but something tells me that this guy building a webserver to run this on, first, using a TRS-80 Model 100 portable and, then, an old 6-switch Atari 2600 console is pretty neat.

And, bejezuz, I checked which times had the most submissions. Both 4:20 AM and PM...by a loooooooong shot.

    Gots ta love the burners!
